I posted about that earlier too. It really struck me. Then again, the interviewer was horrible and did not dig into her answer. Not sure how literally to take it.

I totally agree that it’d be better if she ran behind Katelyn and Kelsey! (However, she’s essentially stating that she knows she’s not that fast, but if she sees Sydney, she knows she can hang with her).

No inside scoop as of yet. However, if Marlee is nursing an injury then it certainly would not make sense to run her at ACC's since they clearly don't need her to win. After that, it's anyone's guess, but she is definitely not out for Nationals at this point.
I disagree with the comment regarding 'winning another way'...that was not in reference to Starliper. She was referring to losing two of their top placers last year in Steelman and Hayes.
There was no reference to Starliper or a possible injury. Which there is no evidence to suggest at this point. She didn't run Nutty...not a big deal...she had run the two previous races. There is no reason to overwork any of the runners early in the season...as these races really do not count for anything.
Having said that, I agree that they need Starliper likely to win...or they need need their 5th to have a very strong race, and Bush/Seymour to get into the NM pack. Very good chance that is where they target their pace.
Bush sounded frustrated with her performance at Nutty...it sounded to me like she realizes that running at the very front is not the best strategy for her. With her experience, the hills are not going to be any more issue for her than for any other runner.

I did not say that, unfortunately. But I have not heard anything in a couple weeks.
They *really* need Starliper at full health then. Fingers crossed
even if starliper isnt 100%, they will use her for nationals if she will want to race for the team like hannah and katelyn did last year, both of them were running injured
Does Starliper suffer from a rare bone disease or some sort? They have not raised her mileage and took a careful approach in the summer, but after going all-out in just one race, she got injured again.
She has been injured since her senior year in High School, she is now on her third year of Collège. They should seek out specialists and find out what is really causing these unending injuries, she is ruining her running career and body. Maybe a year break to completely heal and recover should be done? Sacrifice college running if she still wants to run professionally in the future.

Some thoughts: Maddy Denner could come out of nowhere like she did to get 9th at NCAAs last year, although it seems a bit unlikely. Even still I think she will be top 20. Who knows if Starliper is healthy, fourth might be optimistic even if she races after nearly a month off. Maatoug looks pretty strong after 28th at Nutty and 2nd at Paul short behind only Kemboi, but she doesn't have a lot of racing experience which could be exposed here. If Roark has a day like she had at Jamboree, she could break up the NC State top 5, but nutty wasn't quite as strong for her. I would put Brynn Brown higher than 10, as she has been consistent so far with top 20 at nutty and top 8 at Paul short. I am not confident in Shaw right now finishing 8th, and that is if she even races at all. Frias finding her stride after a storied senior year, Appleton a little unknown due to lack of big races but looked strong running 16:31 at panorama farms. Markezich could be anywhere from 4-9 for me but she usually trends better later season.
If Marlee is nursing an injury, even if she is likely to run Nationals...then it makes it extremely important for Shaw, Howlett, Quarzo, and Mareno to show well. The 6th / 7th may come into play.
