How long does a pattern have to occur for it to stop being a mistake and start becoming a choice?
Duane Ross made his choice to cheat. That was his choice. Having influence over the lives of other people with scholarship incentive affects them and not him.
His choices and bad decision making between 2001 to 2010 indicate he should probably not be making decisions for young athletes. It will come to a head eventually. At the very least it should be discussed. It is not discussed so it can be buried.
I’ll bet the alumni at the University of Tennessee Knoxville do not know Duanes Ross’s history.
I’ve yet to hear a public statement from him describing what he did and condemning it. Instead he has tried to bury it. Where is the public admission, renunciation, repentance?
We know, and we don’t care. You’re being intentionally obtuse if you think most high level athletes and coaches aren’t cheating. I mean Oregon hired Jerry Schumacher.
Once a drug cheat always a drug cheat. Not sure why anyone’s surprised.
Then again this is the same college that Gatlin and Christian Coleman went to, so UT may be ok with how Ross operates
Every college has cheaters in their history. Most of the high level athletes in the sport are cheating. Evolve or get left behind, just like cycling used to be.
You have to predict that there will be some SEC Conference ADs that will contact the NCAA about Randolph's eligibility. They also may ask about a possible "Show Cause " coaching action for UT's new track coach. ( Unethical drug testing procedures ??)
Already a joke. Blutreich was announced and left two days later. Son serving ban from WADA. Only was able to hire his assistants from A&T. Truly laughable.

That’s hardly surprising when Oregon comes calling. Most coaches would jump at that opportunity. Especially with how much they are reportedly paying him.
Anyone saying Randolph is doping is a idiot. Tampering is a negative term used by USADA that validates claims yall are spewing. He didn't use drugs. When you are an elite athlete USADA makes a agreement to test you within a specific window of time you give them. If you miss that window or dont communicate with them your whereabouts they consider that tampering. Now we all know Randolph for his elite career has been in north carolina but when he father got the job at UT he started splitting his time training in Tennessee and North Carolina from my intel when USADA came to test him he wasnt in NC per his agreement. Sanya Richards Ross spoke on this and stated how its a issue among many athletes. She said during her career she had to hire an assistant specifically to make sure she was in place for USADA to come test within her window. Please stop spreading ugly allegations

LOL. What? FYI, tampering is defined in the Wada 2021 code as follows:
Tampering: [b[Intentional conduct which subverts the Doping Control process[/b] but which would not otherwise be included in the definition of Prohibited Methods. Tampering shall include, without limitation, offering or accepting a bribe to perform or fail to perform an act, preventing the collection of a Sample, affecting or making impossible the analysis of a Sample, falsifying documents submitted to an Anti-Doping Organization or TUE committee or hearing panel, procuring false testimony from witnesses, committing any other fraudulent act upon the Anti-Doping Organization or hearing body to affect Results Management or the imposition of Consequences, and any other similar intentional interference or Attempted interference with any aspect of Doping Control.
Since we are talking about a missed test, it's one or more of those:
1) offering ... a bribe -> unlikely
2) falsifying documents -> most likely, see McNeal
3) procuring false testimony from witnesses -> possible, see Dry
And, surprise surprise, it was the AIU, not USADA. See from their press release:
Randolph Ross has today been issued a Notice of Allegation by the AIU alleging a violation of Rule 2.5 of the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules for tampering with the doping control process. The allegation arises out of the athlete’s conduct during the course of an investigation into a potential whereabouts violation. There was an unsuccessful attempt by the AIU to test Mr Ross on 18 June 2022 and the investigation into this matter concluded when Mr Ross was interviewed by the AIU in Eugene on 14 July.
It is unfair to go with the assumption that Randolph Ross is doping/cheated just because he unfortunately missed one test. And let's move on from his dad past from years ago.
Duane Ross is an excellent coach so let's see how well he does at Tennessee.

People that can pass tests don't skip them. Wasn't it Centro that said "like father, like son"?
People normally don't get suspended for just missing 1 test. I doubt when the details come out it will look good..

??? You keep glossing over info that above posters are telling you. It is not just a missed test. A missed test is just a whereabouts failure, and you are allowed a couple of them before you receive a suspension. His suspension was because of a tampering violation. I am not saying that he is full blown doping, but there were things that came up as a result of his interview that were not okay (false testimony, falsified information, etc).
If I my father is a coach who is aware of the challenges regarding testing, I do not miss a test. If I happen to miss a test but I am clean, then I am going to be 100 percent honest and transparent.

The news articles clearly say they couldnt locate him for a doping test so what I said is valid. Why is everybody so quick to incriminate him as a drug cheat
Randolph Ross, back-to-back NCAA champion in the 400 meters, has been dismissed from the world track and field championships over a missed doping test.
