I went to school in the 90 and 2000's and while a lot more was tolerated this was not a fight. This was a guy running up and assaulting someone who was completely unaware and defenseless from behind. I think its pretty obvious the difference between this mugging and two willing combatants with someone getting their A$$ kicked.

I think this has to go to the legal system and maybe its just him being kicked of the track team, a suspension from school, and some type of probation that gets cleaned off his permanent record if he meets some conditions. If he has a record already its probably more severe. But you can't just let assault occur. Individuals who do this type of thing generally do not suddenly behave better if left off the hook.

This info is pretty accurate according to some coaches l talked with on Monday…they observed the entire incident (but not close enough to intercede)…the lead 1600m runner was “interfered” (he did push the kid out of the way from lane 1) with at the 300m mark and again at the same spot on lap 2…the aggressor tried to “bump” or “hit” him on the turn, but the runner swerved away…this is when the aggressor jumped into the race and chased the leader and punched him…many fans and parents and coaches were yelling for the kid to get off the track, but he did not listen…after he got bumped by the leader, his teammates seemed to “encourage” him to retaliate…the coaches heard that the police did not arrest the aggressor because the incident was deemed mutual combatants ( the mile runner initiated the first contact and the aggressor was just reacting)…

Any word if the puncher was at least kicked off the team? That seems like the bare minimum that should occur.

Agreed. It's definitely not the majority. And the vast majority of African Americans are hardworking, good people. But there is a toxic, violent, racist culture among the younger African Americans and in the inner cities that celebrates violence, crime, sexism, and racism. Where were the protesters when the 2 black teen girls murdered the Uber driver and got 4 years in prison? Where have the protesters been when the vast majority of anti-asian violence has been perpetrated by blacks? I'm just speaking facts here, and like I said the VAST Majority of them are great people, it's just about the culture, not the skin color.

You all do realize assault requires someone to press charges right? This isn’t “the law” not being responsible and doing their job, the kid probably just isn’t pressing charges
