She ran a race in Rome this weekend instead of this event. 1:09:17 Half Marathon (83 second PR). The race announcer was being sarcastic about her "missing a flight," knowing she just raced in Europe.

Why do I have to create a user account for this 1-time viewing? It's call pay-per-view. I don't want to create a f***in user account on some stupid site. I have 100 user accounts just for daily living. Give me give me a payment prompt and unlock the video after you charge my card. I f***in hate the internet nowadays.
You might have a Russian IP

Looks like he will only be rabbiting the WC Q race . . . but which group -- the 26:44 AR group or the 27:30 field --- we'll have to watch and see.
Sound Running/Tracklandia has made a point to note that 7 of last summer's 32 entrants in the Olympic 10k race are racing tonight. And that number does not include former Olympians Lopez Lomong and Evan Jager.
As noted above, this may be the highest quality men's 10k ever on a US track -- possibly only the Pre Classic 10k where Rupp ran his 26:44 was better. About the only significant American missing from tonight's race is Joe Klecker.
And, as noted above, tonight's fields are far more numerous than in the inaugural races last year. 2021 had 7 women finish the WC Q race plus 2 rabbits. 2021 had only 5 men finish the WC Q race plus 5 DNFs.
With the US 10k qualifier race now moved back to the end of May, best to race now with a full fall and winter training rather than waiting until the Payton Jordan in early May -- just 3 weeks before the US Q race.
The link here is telling me that there’s no network connection.
I'm confused? She beat the pace light by the finish. So, it wasn't set to the Champs qualifier of 31:45? What was it set to? 31:55? Am I the only one who saw this? That's stupid.
If they really wanted ratings they would just let Emily Sisson, Sage Hurta, and Keely Hodge run in circles
We’re the lights off? Weren’t they supposed to be set at 31:45?
Hurley was running with the pacing lights (which were supposed to be 31:45 pace) the last 2k, finished ahead of them, and ran 31:49... no acknowledgement at all from the announcers. Imagine relying on the lights for a US champs qualifier and they're slow lmao

People want to know why our sport isn't popular? Because it's boring and most of the time you are watching practice. Even though I've paid for the meet, I'm currently surfing the internet with the meet muted as I'd rather hear nothing than have to watch the B heat of the women's 10k.
Are they at least breaking away every two laps for lengthy personal profiles of all the B women who are mothers?
In the first heat of the women's 10K, Lauren Hurley, winner, finished ahead of the lights but missed the US champs Q time by 4 seconds. The announcers are not talking about that and they should be. What happened? The lights should have been right on the Q time.

That’s f’d up! Why were they set for five seconds slower!? she was clearly focused on the lights!
I was thinking the same thing. Are the lights not accurate or did they for some reason request a time 5-7 seconds off the standard?
Sound running said the lights would be set for 31:50 earlier today- I have no idea why though.
the guy said the light timing was off around 5k ish .
What a mess up. She was ahead of the lights and did not make the 31:45? Robbed. As bad as a wrong turn in Tokyo. And the announcer guy, very very weak. Many off comments. Is he watching? And names for those not in 1st please? Disappointed by the pace lights and the announcing thus far. Paid my $6 gladly. But please do better as the more serious races get going.

Our sport isn't popular because this weekend - not on TV.
On YouTube I could watch a crappy meet from New Zealand, which I did. Nothing but hoops to jump through to watch distance running - but I could see Missouri Valley Conference basketball, and I'm in Los Angeles. So I went on a bike ride, and figured I'd check in on stuff here later, and maybe watch a TRP wrap-up in a few days.

Did they even announce the standard before the announcers said what it was? Is the standard actually 31:50?

You are right and I was wondering same thing. Announcers asleeep on that one.
did they get the 2 sideline reporters from the taco truck? one guy yelling , the other guy mic off
Are the lights wrong again? The two standards seem to be tracking together when they should be separating. Is that why the pacer let the lights go?
