What was your biggest regret in life?

I’m older than most of you here… biggest regret was turning down a job offer from Microsoft in 1986 before they really took off. At the time it sounded pretty risky and I had another good offer from an established blue chip company so I didn’t even stress over the decision. I’ve still had a great life but it likely would have been very different with a few hundred million dollars more.

Athletically, I regret not maintaining something closer to my college racing weight (6’2”, 155 lbs) until I got into masters cycling at 180 lbs. Was pretty successful at that weight but probably would have been competitive nationally at 20-25 lbs lighter.

Not having kids.

When I met my ex we were both selfish.

I changed my mind. She didn't. We split up and now it's too late.

To be honest, I don't regret anything. But sometimes it seems that I just broke off relations with people. And I will probably regret for the rest of my life that I lost those people who were really dear to me.

My biggest regret is not allowing my cousin to date me sooner. I'm so in love with her now. We plan to get married and start a family.

My biggest regret is finding this site.

Having kids. I am poor, tired, and miserable now.

Getting into the sport of Track and Field. I literally wish I never would have.

Getting vaccinated and being a giant a hole to so many people that have, evidently, turned out to be smarter and more courageous than me.

Wish I hit a sauna after training during my senior year in HS. On the district final day it was abnormally hot and I bonked for some reason because of the heat. The heat preparation training from the sauna would've set me up to hammer the kids I should've.

I've been here since day 1. You haven't missed much.

As for my personal experience, one of my biggest regrets is not studying abroad during college. I had the opportunity but I was too worried about the finances and the unknown. Now I wish I had taken that chance and explore the world. It's a reminder for me to keep an open mind and be more spontaneous in life.
It's normal to have regrets, but it's important to remember that we can't change the past, but we can learn from it and make the most out of our present and future. One way to regret over missed opportunities is to focus on the present and future, rather than dwelling on the past.

I guess it would be not trying harder to get my brother into treatment for alcoholism. He was a scholar and an athlete and I miss him.
