Well isn't that speshull. Grant has now equaled Drew's 3K and is only a second off his 1500. He gets the donut and you get the hole.

Sure and Drew made the 5k team at the same age also. Give him another 2 or 3 years to see if he keeps progressing or if he stagnates. It is hard to remember but people said a lot of crap about Rupp not progressing also. Then in 2010 he made the jump from a good national class athlete to a world class one. If Drew runs 3:34/13:05 next year, a lot of the complaints go away. Running 3:37/13:20 and they will just get louder....

Yup, it’s November. All of these guys ran well.
Being sharp in November isn’t desireable. Cut Hunter Some slack, he ran 7:44 two seconds behind - what’s the big deal and why are so many posters making it a big deal?

Hunter qualified because other runners didn’t have the standard. Getting 5th isn’t something that should be used to say he “qualified”. Let’s see if Hunter can run a 13:07 next year or equivalent and then we can have a serious discussion
Huh? So we should say the guys who beat him that day with a slower PR qualified? No? Then who do we say qualified?

Grant does have the advantage of an in person coach and especially training with far better runners, runners significantly better than himself, whereas Drew has an out of state coach and runners a good deal slower than him at 3k and up. Drew has also been injury-plagued.

Fishers 800 m was in a duel meet against Cal after running and winning other races the same day. Fresh, he easily would have run sub 1:50 but he never ran an 800 m besides this one duel meet.
Who cares about any times. I want to know if it the camera angle made Grijalva’s hair look blonder or did he dye it?
That is much more important that a 7:42 3k in late November. Haha
Without cones or a curb on the turns, the marks will not count or have an asterisk, at best.
It was a time trial.
Tinman is a genius trainer. You will see some of his runners will blossom in the years ahead. People need patience. The Hunter is turning around.
LG is a senior and class of the NCAA. Collegians beat the pros all the time in this sport, pay attention.
