no, was just wanting to see them run the course....I am certain that the ladies race was cut short between the 2 to 3 km mark...those corners right after the 2/5 km marks were quite different in the race than shown on the map.

So I was bored...decided to measure the mens race...it came out exactly 8km on MAPS. Every km split dead on. That was not the case in the womens, I measured it and it was off by 200 - 250m each time.

Hopefully noone minds but I took at shot at measuring the W course and at the 3K mark I had only measured 2.9K and I stopped there. I won't say I am good at it but.....

No entries will be received after this deadline. Each institution should print a copy of its entry forms to take to the regional and national sites.

Entries will be posted by the host at www.GoCards.com/ncaaxc by 5 p.m. local time on Monday, November 7.
From these 7 are ultimately declared for the Regional race and then 7 will ultimately be declared for the National championship.

I would certainly watch the race if you post it...but don't feel the need to...as it would just be for interest sakes.

Side note- I checked the barrios splits and noticed some similar acceleration patterns, again in the middle of the race.
Many of you have spent way too much time trying to equate times and courses and squinting at splits on Google maps. Touhy’s strength, closing speed, body of work in college and the ease in which she’s hammered the best competition this fall in the last K make her a clear favorite on a strength based course, IMO. This is Cross Country and she’s demonstrated the total package. I don’t care that someone ran a fast time on a flat course or if said course is short. This will be a championship race against all the best competition on tough course.
completely agree with you here...so much emphasis is being placed on Valby's fast time on a flat course..Not taking anything away from her, but Tuohy is looking extremely strong on tough courses. And the fact that she ran away from Chmiel at the end of the ACC was surprising.
Chmiel has been running very strong since returning. I put KC on the level somewhere between McCabe and Roe...and expect that she will be a 4th - 6th place finisher at Nats (would love to see her higher). Normally KC has been a little behind Tuohy overall, but she is one of the few runners that could pace fairly close. Chmiel had no problem hanging behind the ND runners who took it out strong, and then moved up with Tuohy.
They were together at the 5k mark, and then KT took off. She put a 12 second gap on KC in 1km...and Chmiel was not running slow. I believe she also broke the old course record. And like at Nutty, part of that last km was up a hill.
I believe Tuohy is on another level this year, and I do not expect that Valby can drop her even if she tries. Anyway...it all makes for an exciting race at Nats.

I agree, Chmiel Mccabe and Roe are all around a similar level and Chmiel is looking really, really strong. I am very excited to see where she finishes at nats.
Tuohy has definitely proven she can close in 3 flat over hills. Unless I am mistaken, I have not seen anyone else do that yet this season.
I’ll eat my hat if anyone closes in 3 minutes for the last km in Stillwater. They are not are going to go out blazing fast and then run 3:00 on the hardest km on the course. And this race will go out fast.

I bet the 1st K is not exceptionally fast (18 months ago it was 3:05) and I'll be surprised if it is much faster than that. But I bet 3K is well under 10 this year (maybe 9:40) vs 10:06 back then. And no I don't see anybody going up that last hill and running 3:00 for that K either.
R regionals usually only one week before nationals? Seems too close! Anyone else think they should have moved regionals up at least a day or two? Anyway what's everyone expecting for regionals? Do the top teams usually hold back?
