But the Interior Department is in charge of distributing the money, and a representative indicated the remaining funds would largely go to the new Trump-backed Freedom 250. America250 so far has received $25 million of that funding source and is hoping for an additional $25 million this year.

The Interior Department representative, who declined to say how much money would be given out, said the agency looked forward to “celebrating Freedom 250 and saluting 250 years of American greatness alongside President Donald J.
