I have NBC Sports Gold and just tried watching the replay--it kept locking up every 30 seconds. So I tried the ipad and couldn't even find it.

So, like in 2007, I just scrolled through this thread and read what you idiots posted for splits and speculations. Thanks, I pretty much hate all of you but at least you are reliable.

Right, volunteers wouldn't usually pass the bottles.

I didn't hear the interview with his exact wording on this, but I would think some volunteer standing back to the table, veering around for a selfie, would be the last thing you need while trying to snag a bottle at WR marathon pace.

Not to say it should ruin his day, just that it was obvious to me that water station issues were what he was addressing.

The commentators seemed to think a bike had got in his way or something.

I hope Bekele isn't discouraged. He has good marathons left in him, he needs to keep trying.

I'm all ears - to put them out ? A job one person could do and then leave or stand guard - without a selfie stick. Are you sure that you have engaged ?

Very hot in London 23 us in shade in sun 30 or 80+f

Farah now holds British records for 1500m to marathon! Did well to not fold and finish 3rd betting a lot of fast guys

Women's WR attempt madness in that sun. Kipchoge has more sense. In cooler conditions the WR would have been his.

They are supposed to put the drinks out and point to the runners which drink is theirs.

There were two drinks on table 4 which were in identical white bottles. One was Farah's, the other was an Ethiopian runner's (not sure who).

The staff are supposed to point out which drink is his, but instead some bloke is pointing a phone in Farah's face. Very poor.

The first 5km were insane even being downhill. Sub 14 is just too much, good quality half marathons go way slower than that!

It's very hard to run 62 on the second half no matter how slow the first half is, but I agree that a 61:40/63:00 would have been possible from what I've seen.

A sub 2:05 is possible, but I doubt it was a clean performance anyway. Sorry about the skepticism but with all his moves and schemes he's been involved in over the past 6 years no one can convince me he's clean.

Kipchogue was incredible as always.

To the guy that posted that Yuki couldn’t win in Boston with the London field at Boston:

He would’ve beaten them all except likely Kipchoge. I’m guessing most elite marathoners are great in ideal conditions and when the conditions are crap, they don’t perform near their ability- Bekele, Kipsang, Rupp, Dibaba, Keitany etc... Kawauchi was able run in cold conditions wearing probably the least amount of clothing of the elite field that finished the race - so advantage Yuki on a cold rainy unprepared field. And no way he’s top 3 in London (not hot enough to make a significant dent on a superior field).

Let’s get this straight Mo. Awesome showing, but water bottle pick up is YOUR responsibility and not that of the ‘...staff...’ (incidentally they are volunteers), blaming them for the issues is weak, and if you were here with me now I’d break your jaw as a punishment.

European road record for Mo for 25k and 30k. Only the marathon record is out of his reach (for now)
