It doesn't matter if other runners finished after six hours. What matters is if PM started the route an hour early after the race officials told her she could not do so.

No it does not matter if she started early or even if she did or did not have permission. It only matters if she took credit for a normal start and took credit for a one hour better time. No one is listening. I am saying that if this is a loop course, 72 runners would pass her if she started one hour early. Some of those would likely have questioned her being that far ahead. If it was an out and back or a course she could cut, she would have no need to request an early start if cheating was on her mind to start with. So none of it makes any sense, unless 72 people were so focused on their race that they did not notice passing her. The leaders were running 3 hour pace. Did they not notice that a women in her 40's was ahead of them for 1/4th of the race? Whew!! I think the cut off time is the key. Her motivation is finishing and avoiding a DNF. Bad for publicity. Times do not matter. Same situation at Badwater. Her blog indicates she was afraid of being pulled off the course because of the time limit. How she manages never to DNF despite all the races she enters is still a matter of conjecture.

I apologize. It appears that PM is right . There was no 6 hour cut off. Three runners were recorded over 6 hours. She probably did ask to start early. That in and of itself is not evidence of cheating. Only if someone actually saw her do it.

I seem to follow ... several have had to bring us back to the original point on this thread...Parvaneh cheating...Jason, I think, began...then others started giving their observations... then there appeared some personal attacks against others no one knows or wondered about in the first place...got kinda weird... Guess it's always the same tactic...when everyone is pointing fingers at you, start point fingers at others to shift the focus. I suppose the thinking is that if attention is diverted to someone else, they'll forget what it's really all about. Somehow, I don't think it's working. Others seem to be coming out...

Issue is that she registered a 5:19 when it should have been a 6:19

Actually, it does matter if she started one hour early without permission. The issue to me is not if she ran 5:19 or 6:19, they are both so very slow and pointless that they might as well be the same time.

The issue is that races cannot just have any fool starting whenever is convenient for them. If you start the race before the allowed starting time, then you cannot claim to have run the race (or walked/slogged it in PM's case, semantics).

PM should be DQed from the official results of this race. But, it's like I said before, the times are so incredibly slow that usually race officials just don't care at that point. It's like, "whatever, here's your medal lady, now get out of here so we can take this finish line apart and get home before dark."

The only way that an RD will usually DQ someone is if affects age group awards or something and some other runner really b!tches about it.

So, I don't care if PM signed up for this event, ran all 26.2 miles in 5 hours, 6 hours, or 15 hours, the point is that she didn't actually take part in the race itself because when the race officially started, she was somewhere about mile 4.

2.Someone named "Denise you screwed up again" points out correctly that Jackson Hole Walk" is in error about there being a cutoff time implying that the accuser is Denise, one of the original three women out to get PM.

3. Someone named Sam Kolter claimed to be at the registration table when PM was told she could not start early, but does NOT say he or she was an actual witness to PM starting early w/o permission, only that "people find ways to cheat no matter what".

4. Correct me if I am wrong: Where in the above scenario did you become convinced that "she was somewhere about mile 4" when the race started and that she "should be DQed from the official results" and "didn't actually take part in the race itself".

You have Denise -not an impartial witness, Sam , who didn't say he saw her start, and that is it. Oh yeah, one more poster said that informally in the running community, word gets out about people. Sorry, I do not see hard proof. Maybe I missed something. Please enlighten me. Again I suspect PM's overall motivations regarding her record seeking and her publicity seeking , but I do not respect the tactics of her detractors either.

If you ran a sub 10 hour 50-mile, and your marathon PR is only 4:30, then one of the following must be true...

1. You sandbagged all your marathons.

2. Your fitness level was much greater when you ran the 50-miler than it was at the time of any of your marathons.

3. The 50-mile course was short, or the marathon course was long.

4. You cheated in the 50-mile.

So which one is it?

Your sponsors would not be down with this behavior. Not one bit!!

But start early so you can record a better time.....or perhaps to "forget" what lap you are in and show an even faster finish time. Make sure to record your finish time as a nice even round number too. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Also, note how many "ghost runners" get officially recorded as finishing the race as to make it look like PM actually ran an event where others were actually present and participating. #joke

My feeling is that this thread has run it course and PM and Steve are managing to hold out until it finally goes away completely. They'll just carry on organizing and holding their sham events and making a dollar. Good luck to them I suppose if they can find people gullible enough.

I'd say the one positive to come out of this is she'll be under close scrutiny from now on so we won't be seeing some of the ridiculous times and multiple performances that we've seen recorded against PM's name in the past. Expect a spate of injuries or something else to curtail her phenomenal exploits.
