TCNJ are the defending regional champs, let's not forget that. Granted there have been monster runs by some other teams in the region (Cortland at Paul Short, NYU at Oshkosh, Geneseo at Pre Nats), but they are the champs until dethroned. I am not saying TCNJ will repeat this year, even though that would not be a total shock, but there should be talk about them making a push for the top spot. They may not have that #1 runner like NYU had in Hany last year, but their pack is just as good as anyone in this region. They had sub-par races last year at regionals and nationals, and look what still happened: they WON regionals and took 10th at nats! They lost 3 key runners from last years team, but just like any other good program, have a host of others back and others that have been performing well. Their races as of late haven't been amazing, but they always seem to be on their A game around regionals time (regional champs 3 of the past 4 years). The point is to get to nationals and this year's regional race, team and individual wise will be a dandy, one of the best in a long time. I hope our region gets 5 teams to the big dance, that would show how strong our region is. Hopefully instead of killing each other at regionals, maybe NYU, TCNJ, Geneseo, Cortland and RIT can push each other so they all make nats. Just because a team might win regionals, doesn't mean they are the better team and will do the best at nationals. So instead of trying to say who is going to win regionals, let's see who can make it there first.
