A 4:25 converts to a 4:06 1500m, so while good it's not nearly as impressive as you think.

Seems to be an unfair advantage that Chunko has been recruiting athletes who already have run the 1500. He should stick to only recruiting corn fed Minnesotans like the rest of the MIAC.

Sliding some quick math indicates Carleton could run 9:44 for the DMR due to their returning 49 400 runner and the big senior trio.
I project the Johnnies at 9:52 with Stencel, Montruel, and Kauza. They have a 100 men who can run 50, so someone will step up to run 49.
The Oles do have a good 800 group, but looking at how they all did in the 1500, they don’t have a 1200 leg. I still can’t understand why they didn’t chase the qualifier last year. It’s reprehensible coaching. They missed their chance.
Big Dave RIcks fan, but even if we take lifetime outdoor bests of the Carls and giving Roy a generous 3:08, I only get a 9:54.78. That will likely not make the meet.
St. John's actually projects to be very close with St. Peter, Montreuil, Stencel, and Witschen. I have them closer to 9:56, which would be a massive school record.
I too worry that the Oles don't have a 1200 leg. Conceivably, Nemecek or Moore could move up or maybe they've somehow made Myers faster in his first year - unlikely in that program. Maybe Fells steps up after a surprising MIAC outdoor meet, but he seems more like the type that's happy to be on the team and let others set the pace. After seeing the mile results from December, they Oles don't appear to be a factor in the DMR at the national level. And lets not forget how the Oles. folded at the Indoor Championship. That was the start of the Graber domination of the Oles. Some people just want it more. Iggy is abroad again in January and seems unmotivated with the loss of Goss as a competitor.
Not sure that they would do this, but Turlington has run 3:50/4:12 so they could conceivably run him on the mile leg and put Iggy at the 1200. He ran 3:48 outdoor and ran 2:30 a few years ago, so he would be a serviceable 1200 leg to challenge Roy. That would mean Turlington would give up running an individual event at Nationals if he can qualify.
Stride report lists Nemecek and Turlington as just missed for their top 25 list and Moore as honorable mention. Gabe and Ihrke should be included, but nice to see some MIAC representation!
Is the rumor about Mo true? What sad soul turned him in? I don’t even think Power would stoop this low. It seems like everyone in the North Region had much love for him. Had to be someone that he beat at Nats.
Here’s to hoping he channels this into a dominant Spring Marathon build. I’d think La Crosse, the U of M /‘d lower tier schools like Hamline and even St. Olaf would let him into their home meets if he still wants to run track times.

WTF? It's illegal for some people to help out with your tuition? And why would you report someone or that? The crazy NIL football stuff is happening in NCAA yet this happens to Mo? What the hell happened? Maybe Mr Epstein files and dog shooter Noem got involved with their MN Somali destruction plan

I don't think anyone turned him in. There were many eyes on him as of recent with the marathon and someone at the ncaa probably caught wind of the donation situation. If anybody else had received a donation I don't think they would have discovered it or cared about it simply because they don't achieve the same stuff that Bati does. Extremely unfair situation, but let's be glad that he was able to make it through cross season and that he has a shot at a professional career unlike most of these goobers at any division. I hope MDE scoops him up since he's already training with Joel
The worst part of the issue is if he wasn't as fast as he is, it would never have been a story. But also, why in the world did Augsburg not do their homework to help Mo? Their Athletic Director should be held equally accountable given that they promoted him story and the goodwill of the GoFundMe. It's just really sad to see. And also the rule is stupid. I think the MIAC coaches who donated should also be sanctioned. They should have known it was against the rules and as someone who is a mentor in the sport reached out to Mo or Nick and helped them to find a more "legal" route to keep Mo in school.
The good news in all of this is that he will graduate and nobody can stop him from training except himself, so hopefully he has a lengthy and fulfilling running career.

I’ve heard multiple stories of Power chatting with/congratulating Mo. I’ve never met him and people may hate him, but I genuinely doubt he did it. If so he’d have done it earlier to get Turlington the conference win.
A TITAN is coming to the MIAC in the fall.
Committed posts are starting to come out on Instagram and per gustietfxc it looks like Gustavus just signed Elliot vanWestrienen, presumably the brother of 4x D3 all American and 14:00 5ker Isaac vanWestrienen. Their high school PRs look relatively similar, but it remains to be seen if Elliot can find the special sauce that propelled his brother to the top of the division.
With Mo out of eligibility and many of the top Oles graduating, could this be the changing of the guard?
It will take 2-3 years, but this could absolutely change the profile of the MIAC. I’m so impressed with what Brendo does with so little. Can’t wait to see what he can do with some more high profile runners.
Has their ever been an era when Gustavus, Macalester, and St. John’s were the top teams in the conference? And what is happening with the Oles? Power needs to start recruiting and doing a better of job of developing his young bubs or they’ll go back to the Thunder days of having a good guy every few years and an occasional surprisingly good team. Have they signed anyone? I’ve see surprisingly few announcements from a social media infatuated coach.
You know who is building a dynasty? Carleton women. Their currents freshmen and the incoming class will dominate the MIAC even with a vastly improving Gustavus and Macalester.
