You can't follow any argument so you can't follow mine. I haven't changed anything but with your psychological issues I don't expect you to understand that. When he stated, as he has, that the HM is his "best distance" no one who accepts that actually thinks he will be lucky to simply finish the race (although he later showed that might not have been an unreasonable concern). Would he have trouble finishing a 10k, 5k, 1500 - all of which he has said are his weaker distances? You might be the only person on these boards who seriously thought he might not be able to finish the race, because of a likely facetious remark he made, but in your stupid cherry-picking of his comments you ignored his earlier bragging about the HM as his "best distance".
So you confirm you still think "most expected" him to run 57 minutes.
I can follow Jakob's argument: "after a long season on the track working towards the 1500m, it's exciting to see if I even can reach the finish line."
He surpassed that expectation, exciting many, including himself, by finishing, and adding a national 10K road race record to his palmares.
It will be exciting to see what he can achieve when he is fresh and peaked for the half-marathon.
It doesn’t mean much that he finished, he ran 27:27 and cratered. Had he DNFed, the quality of his performance would still be the same.

You lie with every sentence. I didn't say most here expected him to run 57 minutes but many thought he would be in contention in the race and might even threaten the wr. It wasn't the expectation that he would struggle to finish the race, an event which he has said - and you repeatedly ignore - is his "best distance".
It doesn’t mean much that he finished, he ran 27:27 and cratered. Had he DNFed, the quality of his performance would still be the same.
The whole race doesn't mean much, since this was the year of the Olympics, and Diamond League.
By the same kind of argument you would say that about the Olympic 1500. It only matters that he was winning 120m from the finish. Like the HM, the rest of the race doesn't matter.
So you confirm you still think "most expected" him to run 57 minutes.

You seem unable to confirm what you think. Do you even know where you stand?
Here's what you said: "63 minutes is about 6 minutes slower than most expected." Now you are backpedaling, again. I'm wondering whether you suffer from a lack of higher order intelligence, a lack of honesty, and/or perhaps early onset dementia erasing your short term memory.
If Jakob's expressed expectation was "it's exciting to see if I even can reach the finish line", and assuming it's true for the sake of argument that "most expected" something else, than I can only conclude that "most" had false expectations.
The half-marathon may be his "best distance" but certainly not "after a long season on the track working towards the 1500m". Whether it is remains to be seen in the next few years or so, not two days after the 1500m Diamond League final.

You misunderstand. It is not "the whole race" distance, but the Copenhagen half-marathon in and of itself that is not important for Jakob, at this time. This year, the Olympics and Diamond League were the important races.
We've known since the days of Lydiard that athletes/coaches define the important races, and then tailor their whole training for months and years, to prepare to run these important races at their peak.
The Copenhagen half-marathon was a late addition at the very end of the season, after the Olympics and Diamond league. We can tell from Jakob's own words that this would be a first time test, with no aspiration or representation to produce a career defining final result.
That is the argument why the Copenhagen marathon was not an important race for Jakob Ingebrigtsen, unlike the Olympics 1500m.

"63 minutes is about 6 minutes slower than most expected."
and
"most here expected him to run 57 minutes"
are completely different statements for him. Just look at the difference in length. Or the number of words. Or the number of numbers.
It's not that easy to see any connection between the two - for Dumbo.

So 63 minutes with a long walk to finish 34th is a good result to you for an athlete who says the event is his "best distance". You're the only poster who would have said that before the race. But here's the thing - you didn't. So you're full of sh*te.

Many posters before the race thought he would threaten the world record, if not break it. You will be another of those back-pedalling on that to try to justify an embarrassing performance for him.

It's reassuring to know that the Copenhagen race wasn't important to Jakob or it would have been rather humiliating for him to struggle so badly as he did in his "best event". But then, every time he flops it must be because the race wasn't important to him. Like the Paris 1500. Or Pre. Or the last 2 WC 1500 finals.

Just pointing on another lie of yours in your long list.

According to you, most posters, not just many. You have denied that you have written this - you are a liar. Since you lie constantly- you are a notorious liar.

But you were predicting he would have to walk after 10k, and would finish 34th in 63mins. No one claimed that. Another bullsh*tter.

Most, many - tomarto, tomayto - so what? Was there a poll being conducted? So show me your post where you suggested he would run 63 mins, finish 34th and be reduced to a walk after 10k.
