I've been giving this some thought since I heard about his recent behaviour. From one where I was open minded about whether he was for real or not to one where I don't care.

Why?

What's amazing about it, really? He's massively supported and financially pressured to complete a walk across the country in a nothing special time. The one thing he isn't doing is running, apart from about a half marathon a day. This is a two month job to try and secure his position as a running influencer, so pushing on to walk 50-55 a day is hardly him entering a pantheon. People have done it at similar speeds pushing a stroller. Anyone who walks across the US has done an amazing job to be fair, but very, very few of them have this level of support. It's a touch embarrassing he's making out like he's a beast without even trying to do Pete's record. It's pretty funny that he's also got "his" record wrong by 10 days. He also sounds like a narcissistic piece of work, so maybe we should drop the whole giving a crap and let him fade into obscurity.

Oh and that NuCalm? Ha! What an idiot you'd have to be to believe in that con. I'm starting to sell eye masks and whale song through some cans for ten bucks. Any takers?

But of course, he can't claim world record for 48 marathons run in a row because 607 obviously is not 48.

I believe I saw his saying unofficial world recorder holder, no? And, only to show the ridiculousness in still having this WR debate, 607 days in a row is not the same as 48 in 30. Maybe we should all try to break the WR for the most snails on a face...I'm sure someone here could get more than 43 on their face and then they, too, can say they are a world record holder.

He is attempting to set a record. He isn't calling himself a world record holder...yet. And, from this glorious feed, many have stated the current record holder may not really be the record holder. Same goes for fastest Englishman.
Now let me say something blasphemous...Has anyone gone an dug in so deep to the stats of the "supposed" current record holders of both titles? Was this data even available? If not, how are we to know they were "pure"? Based on the standards of those slinging the mud, the irregularities in the HR prove that he is doing something fraudulent. If that is the case, then those with no data could have very well done the same or even worse. (I am sure they are fine people and I'm sure they didn't do anything wrong, but based on the standards of this hunt, it has to be stated)
I don't know much about NuCalm other than what I've seen from WillG's journey, so I can't speak to that. But, if we are going down that rabbit hole, there have been many races that have been sponsored by companies that have done terrible things over time. If we are to judge someone based on who they are sponsored by, what pandoras box are you willing to open?
You are correct, frauds do come in all shapes and sizes. But, so do honest people. Just because he isn't responding the way people would like, just because his team got angry at Will C (and his attacks on them), don't make him a fraud.

The previous record was set in a race. That's that sorted then.

He does say he's a record holder on his website. For 48 marathons in 30 days. That's not a world record.

Don't go an accuse someone of doing something wrong...that is just rude and nasty. Will C went that route claiming he was going to report them to Scottland Yard...say what?? That is slander right there. Why can't you believe in the good in people, and IF they do something wrong THEN battle them. Have you once thought "A lot of good is coming from what Will G is doing? His donations might help FIGHT cancer"?

1. as far as I'm aware Will G is not donating anything, so it's not HIS donations

2. running to raise awareness about cancer is a bit strange idea to me. I know it's totally normal in todays society, but think about it for a second. are people not aware of cancer? really?

3. people who want to donate money to cancer research are much better doing it directly to cancer research centres of their choice. for instance,

Just to make an example, Pete Kostelnick has run an average of 72 miles for 42 days during his transcontinental record; that is almost three marathons a day for 42 days. For sure more than 48 in 30 days.

That's where my concern lies. I suspect this guy may be funding a pet project under the guise of a charitable endeavor. He may not be a charlatan, but he's definitely raised some concerns.

Actually, the London Marathon advertising is primarily charities but it pilfers most of the "donations" for itself to pay it's executives. Does the London Marathon says it does that?
