The Denmark PM said the idea of selling Greenland was absurd and Trump took that as an insult. I guess he had expected her to say something like they would be willing to review any offers.
The idea is absurd; he described it as being a big real estate deal, but it's not. There are no comparable country sales to compare Greenland to and it's not possible to calculate a present value of future cash flows.
The possible value would be comprised of three unknowns: The amount of valuable minerals, the effects of global warming and the costs of extraction. It's guaranteed that if a sale occured one of parties would get ripped off in a big way over the long-term.
Let’s take a step back here. The fact that POTUS was suggesting a transaction that hadn’t been even up for discussion and then cancelling a state visit in retaliation for a very reasonable response is what should be setting off alarm bells. As responses from across Denmark suggest, Trump is the biggest dunce to ever set foot in the WH. How are you just going to pretend another country’s territory is up for discussion and then get upset when you get called out? This guy really lives in a different bubble altogether. You have to be pretty lost to still support this buffoon.
Actually i was being too kind. If I want to call it like it is, trump is one of the biggest $hitstains in American history.
