BroJos are nervous. It's going to come down to the final kick. If he's smart he makes his move around the last 150-250 meters.
Having pacers now is a huge advantage.
So the proper pace for 20 miles is 1:31:31 and i had him in 1:31:35 so he jsut ran the equivalent of the WR for the marathon as JK said 20 miles at 1:59 pace would be the equivalent of the WR.
But remember some people say the half way for the marathon is the 20 mile mark. Let's see what he does for the last 10k.
It AMAZES me that the announcers aren't giving out the 20mile split.

Last 2k lap was run in 6:53 (2:01:01 pace) -- they want to be on 6:49 pace.

Does anyone else feel like this could diminish the value of real marathons? Once we've seen sub-2:00 in perfectly set up conditions, who cares about seeing 2:02 on a traditional course? This will be the marathon performance by which all other marathon performances are judged.
Speaking of perfectly set up conditions, since this event seems to be a success, I wonder if Nike will consider setting up WRs on track distances. Like if they could hire a dozen tall runners to create a wind shield to take Kiprop through 1200m at 2:30.
