He was good enough to win the Olympic 10k in a very fast race, whereas Ingebrigtsen has yet to show he has "improved" to run faster than 12:48. Until he does so he hasn't "improved" over 5k. He has been lucky than none of the races he won were at 12:40 or faster pace.
If he is so much slower than the rest its strange why the rest of the field is setting up the pace for a sub 12:40.
They didn't in those few 5k races he has won. We won't see if he has it until a race is run at that speed. Some of you may stand to be severely disillusioned.

Why do you write "some of you"? I am only one person who thinks that J.I ability obviously is better tjan his PR in the 5000. Time will show.

The prevalent view on these threads is that Ingebrigtsen can succeed over the longer distances as much as he has over the shorter ones.

"those few races" have been the most important 5000 races of the past 3 years. Jakob won all of them. Guess the fast guys just couldn't be bothered...

It still doesn't make him faster. It puts him nowhere near the wr. He remains a 12:48 runner whatever you guys say until he records better.

Which part of my post are you responding to? Who are you talking to right now? Stupid ape, at least read what you're replying to, none of what you wrote engages with any of the words in my post.

That's because it doesn't suit your narrative. Prat.

How many times have you written "12:48" in the last few months? Probably hundreds of times. Are you working on the list of powers of 2? Could you already figure out the next one in the list? What's your goal? Up to 2^6? Hard task.
This 12:48 runner has easily beaten the 12:36 runner. The 12:35 guy came in 9th the last time he raced Ingebrigtsen, who easily has won also here. Since then the 12:35er doesn't care anymore..
Guess what all the other around 12:40 runners did when they raced against the slow Norwegian...
