Interesting tibbit. Apparently that course has not hosted a race in over five years. None of the Ole Miss runners ever ran a race on it during their time on the team until this year. So good luck trying to figure out how the course normally runs.
“The top finisher at the Preview was a minute faster at the SEC race. The second place finisher about 30 seconds faster.”
And how about all the others who ran in both?
Your ‘short course’ narrative has to work for the entire Championship field (or the better portion of it). It does not.
It would likely have shown up at the Preview; it does not.
What does show up is that those closest to the rabbit were the most effected by the rabbit’s race — which is consistent with common race dynamics.
Ha ha, for grins I picked the 77th place finisher, Rosenberg of Vanderbilt. Her first 2Ks were at 80 and 87.5 400 m pace at which point she was 43 seconds behind Valby. She seemingly accelerated to 82 pace for the 3rd K, and then dropped back to 92 pace after that. Anyone else you want to check?
nc state was predicted to be strong team because theres starliper and shaw who can finish in top 20-30s and 40-50s which is why nc state will undeniably win nationals with them
So your theory is that unless every runner from the preview ran faster at the SEC championship, there can be no questions about the course even with the splits and crazy prs? Ok.
Sophie Bauman, Jocelyn Long, Hannah Iefield…Ole Miss. Preview and Championship. Go for it.
I am not sure what you mean. Long of Ole Miss finished 45th in SEC meet and splits showed her pace by K as 77/86/81/90/89/82 same pattern as the other 41 I looked at. I have not looked at the Preview at all.

You can question anything you want. But you might make a stronger case for your opinions when they are supported by facts and/or data.
Each of those women ran slower in the Championship than they did in the Preview.
oh, and I guess that never happened before? I would assume the course was the same setup for both meets. At the ACC meet almost everybody ran faster than they did at Nuttycombe. Seymour of NC St did not. What does that mean?

You did get my curiosity up. I looked at Elmers the winner of the Preview in the Preview. her pace by K at that meet was 81/83/78/85/84/80 - same pattern. The course set up was wrong.
