So much for “beholden to know one.” Surprised to see KT Tape is the sponsor he picks! I mean, come on. Does anyone actually use KT Tape except for when you get a random, unfortunate injury two weeks before your peak race?

Plus, no KT tape worn in the shots of him running today. If it works so great why didn't he wear it?

His views look to be way down from their peak when he decided to go all in on Youtube and quit his day job. If he were a network show, he be cancelled. Seems desperate, I kind of feel sorry for him if this is actually how he feeds his family. I can’t watch anymore though. He was more likeable when he was sweating/freezing in that small shed and giving away shoes. He’s just annoying and redundant now.

The channel is definitely in an absolute tailspin. Bold strategy to try to rescue it by deliberately making even worse videos as he announced last week lmao. Does he seriously think his audience is that dedicated/loyal that they will watch literally any garbage he outputs every single day? Perhaps a small number will (the same rubes who would pay him for emojis and send nice unsolicited gifts obviously), but a majority aren't gonna stick around indefinitely. Typical delusional braindead Seth to not recognize that and instead insist on tethering himself to a daily video schedule just for sake of continuing his streak, even if it means they all suck.

Personally I don't think he made this conscientious decision to make lower quality videos starting from last week like he claims. I think the videos have been declining for months and he made that announcement to try and save face a little. A classic sand bag. Like being 8 years old and getting beat at something in PE so you hit em with the old "well I wasn't even really trying anyway".

The line between satire and actual SJD videos is getting blurrier. I just had to pull the transcript from todays shoe review. How is anyone suppose to get anything useful out of his rambling!?

Also calls it a complex shoe and literally twenty seconds later says it's a simple shoe, not very complex.

The scores are still mind boggling. Maybe it’s the old college marking embedded in my brain, but 75% was a decent score, like it got you a distinction. Today’s shoe gets a bees dick over 7.5 but the sentiment was that it wasn’t great. Everything seems to fall between 7.5 and low 8’s while the actual review could be terrible or exceptional, they are a fraction of a point from each other. It’s confusing. Of course I say this, but compared to Seth I’m also very low IQ. This is likely some subtle Seth take on existential nihilism that I can’t comprehend, where all values are meaningless and everything, life, shoe ratings, KT Tape, is pointless.

Also just on the rambling, that part where he was talking about his love of economics (hilarious in itself) then mid sentence changed to talking about something completely different… *chefs kiss* Beautiful

Can't help but notice he had some more follow-me drone shots today, running down the street. But to have a drone follow you and not run into streetpoles/trees, he pretty much has to run down the middle of the road. I'm sure the drivers on the roads are super enthused to see a guy with wraparound sunglasses running down the center of their roads with a drone illegally following. Where I live, I'd get ran off the road for that nonsense.

I think the issue is that he's built an overly complicated scoring system for something that doesn't require a score. I don't watch many shoe reviewers, I normally just check what Kofuzi thinks if im interested in buying a shoe as I think he does a much better job at just giving some pros and cons. As far as I can tell, no other shoe reviewers have a scoring system, Seth just thinks he's developed some super smart way of comparing shoes which in reality is just a way to drive people to his website to view 'the matrix'. I mean, whats the tangible difference between a 7.8 and a 7.9.

That is a great critique. I'm not sure if having some score of the "durometer"(?) and some thought out max mileage baked into a 7.9 is better than "These feels great and soft on the feet, definately softer than xx shoes. A bit heavy, heavier than yy shoes, and not as comfortable upper as zz shoes. But the ride is great and they are really springy! As a tempo shoe I would say they rival xx, yy and zz, but I would say that I would buy zz if price was not an issue, but these are a great budget version". But what do I know. I guess he uses the metrics to stand out, when ironically his strength is that he runs gazillion miles a week and could stand out as having much first hand experience using the shoe. Its incredible that he doesn't use that more: "Since these shoes was released 3 weeks ago I've run 3 speed spessions, 4 tempos and 4 long runs with this for a total of ccc miles and can say without a doubt that ...".

his scoring system makes no sense....what's the highest score he has ever given a shoe? 8.0, 8.1/10?

what is the point of using an absolute scale when his ideal/ perfect shoe appears to be a 100g next% retailing at $100? its not gonna happen is it....so you're left with most shoes in the 7s when the relative difference between them is probably greater....utterly clueless

and don't get me started on the actual reviews..

Lol Seth lost his mind on one of his own DGR Strong in the Strava comments yesterday. Standing up to the haters for his family while promoting the KT Tape.

A couple quick thoughts-

1) his little brother almost stole the USA Mountain Championship this weekend, blowing everyone out then collapsing a hundred meters from the finish in 1st place. He needs to start showcasing Joseph more..

2) his views will pick up with his Pikes Peak Marathon training. Hate his as much as you want but that’s what I love watching: intervals at 13,000ft… 4hrs long runs with ankle weights.

That literally means nothing to me!!! Just tell me if how it fits/what it feels like to run in/whether you think its good value.

Seth wants an upper middle class lifestyle with vacations in Mexican resorts, that's fine, his choice. He was much nicer and humbler years ago which made him quite likable.

Also his choice to make outrageous Snake Oil salesman claims about KT Tape making your daily runs faster if you just slap a racing stripe on your lower legs. I'll bet KT Tape will not stand by those claims or endorse them. Tempted to find out.

Hoodwinking your "DGR Family" to use KT Tape off label as a daily speed enhancer all while clicking your affiliate link is just not how you treat "family". You don't encourage them to burn through hard earned money like that on something that has no basis to even speculate that 2 strips down your leg make you "faster". How many rolls of KT tape would you go through anyway making it a daily thing? We have to pay for it Seth, you do not.

You can "feed your family" as a sponsored youtuber without such shady tactics.

Seth can view such criticism as something to at least mull over, or he can take on a Martyr complex and think he's being persecuted, likely because he's practically a Saint. Another choice to make.
