1) It's not only a hat. It's a symbol of many things...racism, sexism, incompetence, looking the other way regarding criminal behavior. Also, anyone wearing one is bending over and greasing up for the serial lying that comes out of The Orange One.
2) Should the anti-Trumper have kept his mouth shut? Yes. I personally will never say anything to any a$$hole wearing one of those hats (I have actually never seen someone do so in person), unless they make a comment to me first, and then, if it's off topic, I will just answer them like I would anyone else. If they assume I have similar feelings about Trump when they talk to me, I will tell that person that Trump is an incompetent fool. Any attempts then to get me to change my mind, and I will bid them adieu.

1) Wrong. There are latinos and blacks who support Trump and wear that hat.
2) Hating Trump is fine. I hated Obama but would never advocate somebody attacking an Obama supporter and would condemn that behavior. It is called respect.
