There is more to come out. Pelosi will hold back the impeachment dam until it bursts. Ethically, that is the right thing to do.

This kind of quote is stunning. I'm assuming it's from a real republican and reflects many other republicans...but it might be phony, or just one person, or a D pretending to be an ignorant R.

but it suggests that people believe Trump when he says the Mueller report exonerated him.

If that is true, then we absolutely need to impeach, to break through the Fox propaganda wall and get facts out.

IF you are saying House Democrats are putting party over country by NOT yet beginning the impeachment process, then I agree. No party is above putting their party over country. Currently Republicans are doing that to a level never before seen, but until House Democrats go forward with impeachment, they absolutely are putting party over country.

Why do I say this?

It is clear Trump has committed impeachable offenses. For our Congress to have any lasting teeth, it MUST impeach him, not delay or never do it based on the political climate or perceived political ramifications.

1) Tells Presidents of the future and still THIS president that as long as they have the Senate or even confidence that 2/3 of the Senate won't vote to impeach, that they can do whatever they want.

2) No evidence to support the fact that impeaching Trump could hurt Democrats in 2020. Comparison to Clinton isn't valid.

3) Impeachment should happen for any politician who has behaved in a way that rises to the level of impeachment, regardless of political climate.

1) The president can already do whatever he wants as long as 2/3 of the Senate won't vote to impeach. That is reality today and in the future.

2) It would be pointless to be concerned with evidence from the past. This is indeed a unique situation. We need to trust Pelosi. She understands this stuff better than you and me. Impeachment must happen when the timing is right.

3) Impeachment is a political process. Even with a career criminal in the White House, it's still political. Sanctimony falls flat.

Given the fact that during his entire presidency most people have disapproved of Trump at any given point while his approval rating often hovers in the low 40s, I don't see how Trump's base would be more incensed. At least it would be fewer incensed people than the anti Trump crowd.

And I don't see how some that disapprove of Trump now will suddenly want to vote for him if Republicans let him off.

You're thinking about just one issue in total black in white. If you're a Democrat, then impeaching Trump might be the right thing to do, but so is winning the Senate and White House back in 2020. If you want to put the country back on track and enact policies that will actually help people and make the country a better place, then let Trump sit on his fat@ss and continue to do literally nothing for the next 2 years and smile in November when your patience has paid off.

Please explain how exactly any of this will happen while Ds only control the house? Of your list of things they should do the only thing available is to impeach. That's it.

They can't enact policies that will actually help people until they get control of the S and WH.

The decision to impeach will not result in an ouster of trump from the WH so why do it now?
