I just watched the replay of the home straight in the women's 10,000 meters and actually Hassan's right elbow and arm made two or three contacts with Tsegay, so personally I think Hassan is being a little bit disingenuous when she claims that she felt "she was pushed" but who knows - maybe she's telling the truth or maybe it's wishful thinking.
How far from the line did Hassan fall and why did it take her so long to get across the line?
This deal of sprinters getting to raise their hand and reset the start sequence needs to end.
I'm convinced 90% of the time they are just trying to psych each other out, like they did under the old false start rules. It wastes their own and everyone else's time.
They're responsible for their own blocks, being able to get into them and set. If they have a problem pulling that off, it's their own fault and they should have trained better. These are supposed to be elites who have done this countless times and are experts at it.
Tell me you never sprinted, without saying you never sprinted.
LOL.
you're wrong, and you're not laughing.
Watching sprinters go "oops sorry not ready" in nearly every event is duller than drying paint. Why deny it?
Maybe it's "oops sorry something distracted me?" How hard is it to focus on two commands and a gun?
What are you taking about a minor placing? Top non-African, 5th in a Final, nailing what her coach expected her to race and executing like a pro. Three Americans in Final. It was awesome and my daughters loved it. To be that close to the World Record holder and greatest female long distance runner of all-time in Gidey is just an amazing performance.
LOLOL if you don't consider FIFTH to be a minor placing you are simply proving my point.
No comment on your daughters loving the race, except that if they understand anything at all about racing they know that America was irrelevant in this one.
.....
No sir she didn't make the podium but 5th hardly a minor placing, in fact for an American in the 10000m it's a momentual performance.
I was shocked as even before Ritz stated I had been stating Monson could place top 4-6th as I still think she is in sub 29:50 form. She must work on her closing speed, heck if Gidey could go from getting her doors blown off to a very good kicker in one year- Alicia can definitely improve.
What she did improve some as she closed in 65 seconds today! Great job Alicia. Please let a meet orchestrate a sub 29 minute 10000m WR attempt, so Alicia can get the AR under 30 minutes.

So, he almost saved it, but couldn't , and that's not almost. ?
Gonna burst your bubble too. I am a US National discus medalist. Never did much in shot beyond high school, but Im certain I know what I'm watching. If you understand throws you would get what my username means.
Question for you, on Crousers last throw, the stride where Crousers foot is at the back of the ring, it looks like his foot is on or over the ring. Would it be illegal if it was on the ring, even if it's at the backside? Just a question, not an accusation, I'm sure the judges are watching crazy closely.
Hassan may not have fallen if she didnt intentionally try to impede Tesagy. Run your line and accept silver next time.
....
I became a fan of Hassan because of her fearlessness but I saw her running trying to impede Tsegay and it did upset me. Karma is a mother. She will get a medal these championships if she can stay on her feet and run in a straight line down the home stretch.

Her long, heel-planting strides will never allow her to cover the quick change of speed on the backstretch.

If Gidey and Taye had been closer to Hassan in the homestretch (like directly behind her) Monson might have medaled.
The Boling fanbois going gaga over a 45.13 3rd leg sums up letsrun. He earned his spot by making the USA final but he’s run of the slowest (of not the slowest) splits of any American medalist on a 4x400 relay at Worlds or Olympics in the last 40 years.
Now she's mad, she will destroy everyone in the 400H by going sub 51 and win by over 2 seconds.
Femke: 50.94 FTW!

All these downvote doubters! LOL! She said in her post-race interview: "I'm lucky enough to have another chance in a couple of days so... I would like my revenge."
When an athlete the likes of Femke Bol says that, you should probably listen.
Sub 51 coming right up!

Nothing about her race today suggests she’ll lose the 400h. Nothing about her race today suggests she’ll run sub-51.
