"There are no evil white people forcing black people to abandon their own children." Where did this come from ?
"Stop lying about what the problem really is." And it is ?
Where do you think it came from?
Broken homes are the problem. If children do not have good role models they more often than not turn into bad people. When you have multiple generations of children "raising" children you end up with people who are essentially feral and not suited for civilized society. This is where the violence and criminality come in. Poorly educated narcissists are the absolute worse kind of people to have as neighbors. This the majority of the population in places like South Chicago, East St. Louis, East Cleveland, D.C., Detroit... and on and on and on.
You seemingly have a grasp of "multiple generations" but does that extend to understanding a people have been forced to endure damaging social, economic and political forces, which they had no part in determining, results in the present with cultural and psychological impacts. Would you deny that experience ? Hundreds of years of a specific and unique experience relative to that people. Maybe they've just been in a vacuum for hundreds of years and "plop" have just appeared with a complex set of conditions, that, I don't know, have a historical context that can't be unlinked.
Ah, I see, you want these stereotypes and tropes to remain unpackaged to assuage your insecurities thereby aligning with your flawed knowledge framework by conveniently limiting analysis to a superficial level so the cause of the circumstances is wrongfully limited to its subjects ?
Condescending, jargon-filled, WE-will decide-how-to-frame-a-problem sentences like this explain a decent amount about why American liberals don’t do a very good job of persuading American moderates on social issues.
Far less important, humans managed to discuss and analyze things productively for millennia without using the terms unpacking or trope. Would be neato if we could get back to that.
A lot of Americans are racist (including probably Adult), and American liberals are making NO progress persuading people on the issue when they insist on pretending that black culture isn’t probably a significant part of the problem.
American liberals recognize cultural differences are a major part of the problem. I don’t know if that rhetoric is conducive to winning votes, but the academics would not disagree.

Are you saying the oppression was so long it got into their genes?

Yea everyone had it hard at some point in the past.
More Jews were rounded up and exterminated in 5 years than there were blacks enslaved in 400 years.
Jews have somehow managed to move on and do well for themselves despite to this day being the #1 target of hate crimes in America.
I absolutely deny that a kid born in the last 40 years has even the remotest connection to people who were actually oppressed let alone enslaved.
Having a relative who was treated poorly 150 years ago does NOT excuse abandoning your kid TODAY.

For clarity, I am not American.
Well your breathtaking ignorance is much less surprising then.

I don't think it's in good taste to compare historical tragedies. However, 100's of years is very different to 5 years, and so I deliberately used the words "unique", "specific" and "particular" to indicate a very different experience along a very long time line with consequently long term impacts. Additionally, I would scope it as something which has impacted the majority of the planet as an imperial and colonial project in effect to this second.

Well...all the social capital, wealth and knowledge that allowed the people to thrive and live in sustainable communities with functioning relationships normally passed from generation to generation of course stopped and didn't happen for hundreds of years. A state of suspended development. As I said, they were forced to endure damaging social, economic and political forces for a very long time with the insult of having to take on an alien religion, names and language and whole cosmology on the ways of doing things not necessarily beneficial to them as a group.

Reality is very hard to accept when it collides with our world view..

How did the stuff in the bold make them appear more stupid (on average by IQ) over the centuries?
How did the historic oppression not prevent them from disproportionately high success in sports?

Jews have been persecuted for over 2000 years.
Jews were enslaved in Egypt LONG before Africans were captured by other Africans and sold to Europeans.
Slavery existed in every society on earth. It still exists today in Africa and Asia.

You do understand people don't live for 200 years right?
What does oppression CENTURIES and DECADES ago have to do with people born in the last 40 years?
You're also oblivious to the fact that things have gotten WORSE since the civil rights acts in the 60s.
In 1960 less than 30% of black children were raised in broken homes. Today it's over 70%.
So paying reparations, lowering academic standards, handing out jobs to unqualified individuals based on race/gender along with teaching theories which promote hate of a white generation and institutions from years ago will fix everything? Riiiiiiiiggggghhhtt.
