I’m genuinely curious as to why you (and Marcus) think this. I’d ask him to elaborate, but last time Droddy did that, he got chastised for it.

While I certainly am no fan of the Daniels formula, as I see it as far too basic to achieve maximum results, I think he's definitely gone a little far on this one. I can't imagine any college (maybe very few) use Daniels to a T, and I highly doubt any professional coaches use it at all.
It is a simple, fool proof method to get from point A > Point B. The formula at the very least provides structure, appropriate paces relative to your fitness, periodization, and in general a focus on aerobic development. Most people aged 14-18 will improve by following it. That's way more than most high school programs can provide.
People tend to forget there are A LOT of TERRIBLE coaches out there who ruin runners way more than Daniels does.

Following this logic, everyone else is terrible because they use Daniels.....but he doesn't use Daniels....shouldn't HIS athletes be at least dominating American distance running if everyone else's training has been so "retarded" ?
What are his results doing? What has been his contribution to ZERO gold medals other than Galen Rupp?
This guy is sort of going off the deep end, though. It's one of those things where I don't want to watch it, but I also can't look away.

Most of the top American marathoners and 10k runners came before Daniels Running Formula.

This. Is JMar also in the arena or is he merely criticizing someone who's been in it at least 4x longer than he has? I don't consider the Formula great magic yet I can acknowledge that Jack Daniels's work has resulted in improved high school coaching throughout the US, resulting in athletes arriving to college better prepared/developed, on average. Daniels has also coached more Olympians and top ranking post-collegians than JMar has to date – or ever will, if he sticks to his coaching retirement vow. If JMar's body of work doesn't add to and improve on that, then he's done essentially nothing to move the needle. JMar has coached several decent elite runners, certainly, though I don't see a pipeline of potential medalists in the offing. But that would result from walking the walk, he seems to mostly be about talking the talk.
Read through quickly but still don't know who he coaches? Didn't he become relevant because of his twitter battle with Noah Droddy?

After reading this thread, I think I need me some Jack Daniels (and we’re not talking distance running training guides)...
He’s talking about himself here, right? This is the guy that talks about not carrying anything while you run or even wearing a watch. He says there’s no reason to track mileage in 2019. He’s always talking about how measuring things isn’t that important.
Yet he can calculate an average pace and mileage over the past 8 weeks...

I do it because it’s more like entertainment now. As I keep reading his tweets, I notice how hypocritical he can be and how many examples of successful coaches (much more successful than jmar will ever be) there are that do things he says not to do. Even though we are spreading what he is saying, I think threads like this have helped people realize how asinine most of his thoughts are. I’m convinced that the dude is just looking for whatever reactions he can get, which have been very negative lately, so threads like this are fueling him.

He is basically just a "Social Media" guru... tweeting these little bits of profound info / advise....
Thats great and all, but lets see it put into practice? He is more or less a beta Steve Magness.
Lots of tweets of grandeur , very consumed with his own ideas... I've never met a real coach that talks or thinks like this.
Constantly putting out worthless quotes and garbage info to get picked up on runners world or some crap.
I hear he annoys the absolute piss our of Salazar / Schumy.
