She was solid in the 400/800 in high school only fitting she stays 1500 for a while. Maybe move back to 5k in the next Olympics cycle but til 2020 she should stay put in the 15

None of our top 1500/5k runners in US was running 54r/55 in the 400m In high school. Shelby has natural speed she’s an 800 runner that has great range and ran very well over 5k. I think she could also easily run 1:57/58 in a big diamond league 800. She’s gonna be better over 1500 than Simpson and rowbury because of her ability to close. She could be the only person to have a shot at beating dibaba if the pace lags at the beginning. I’ll call it now she will retire with the AR in the 1500!

Why are they testing Ritz so much? 14 times in one year? This is unbelievable - is he behind in his USADA dues or something?

Maybe they tested him a lot because his results were suspicious. Or maybe he is part of an ongoing investigation. Or maybe he ran a lot of races. Or maybe they are incompetent/idiotic.

What is BTC? Is there something suspicious going on there? And when the NOP is mentioned in a suspicious light, I'm not even sure what that implies. I would imagine that the NOP is providing state of the art facilities, the best rehab specialists, nutritional supplements and all. But is there something else that we should be aware of?

Schumacher and Salazar are totally different coaches and do not collaborate with each other. From what I have seen and heard they may not even like each other. Salazar is known to be shady and likes to work in the 'gray' area. He is known to have used Nike labs to experiment with applying testosterone creams with no positive test.

The only negative thing BTC has ever been linked to is the Fancy Bear report listing Jager as 'possibly doping', same as Farah and Rupp.

NOP has many more reasons to be suscept than BTC.

I’m curious as to what those reasons are. 1500 runners with the ability to run good 5ks are usually good steeplers (because they’re good flat 3k runners).

Plus she is powerful, coordinated, is hardly ever injured, and is on the wild/fearless side. She’s not tall, but not all steeplers are, and women’s barriers are only 30 inches.

She could end up being terrible at it, and it’s not always easy to just pick up a new event. I’ll admit it’s a lot more likely that she WON’T do the steeple and be good at it. But she appears to have the general qualities that make a good steepler and my gut feeling is she will do it and eventually have tremendous success.

But for now, I will enjoy watching her success in her range of ‘flat’ events.

BTW, this is why we shouldn’t question everyone as a doper. Because now, based on the previous doping logic used on LR, we have to question Shelby... and it’s ridiculous. Doping is a problem, but seriously questioning every single good athlete isn’t good for the sport either.
