Atleast for me, it is annoying to hear our (US) distance runners pointing the finger at other countries as if there aren't any doping issues in the USA, when we have plenty of athletes who have been busted, or gotten of with amusing excuses etc.. Yes lack of OOC testing is a concern, but don't act like "they dope and we don't" when that isn't true.

I new some would critcize her for answering his question honestly. It amazes me. The board is full of people calling everyone a doper. The first time an athlete says something remotely honest about doping people freak out - particularly if it's a woman.
I told Jonathan Gault that her winning by so much after not racing doesn't surprise me. In hindsight, the fact that she won by 45 seconds doesn't shock me either. Once they let her get ahead, it's over. She's run 29:20. She should be able to beat Infeld by about a minute.
Huddle is a well educated daughter of a mediocre surgeon.

3) If #1 and #2 don't do it for you, take a look at the photos of the top 15 men in the 10k and ask yourself, "Does the average american distance runner look like this? Look at how skinny they are."

Now I know 10 seconds at this level is a big difference but I guess the reference to solinsky above made me think of his sub 27 run. Didn't he do like 155 for his last 800 - compared to about 157 for mo last night. Interesting to think about how sol might have done if in that race.
And I guess as someone who believes wholeheartedly that mo is on drugs (not just based on times - based on things I've heard) - surely we have to be suspicious about sol

Ayana is a freak and Huddle is a simpleton.
There has always been tons of room in the women's distance races, just like there's tons of room in the women's distance swimming races. Soft records galore. Even the touted 10,000 record was only touted by morons. All you needed was a Katie Ledecky type who could churn out one lap after another at higher sustained speed than previous conventional wisdom allowed.
And that's all it has ever been...pathetic conventional wisdom and not doping.
American distance running is flooded with mediocre athletes. Look at those three clunkers we sent out in that 10,000. Just one look before the race and you'd assign also-ran status to the entire lot, without knowing a thing about them.
Naturally the mediocrities complain and suspect because they've gotten away with defeating even worse athletes throughout their entire career, and somehow think it's supposed to happen at highest level.
Regardless, I'm very appreciative of all the brainstorming bettors who pushed against Ayana to such extreme that she went from 2-5 (-250) favorite at one point to 11/10 (+110) when I jumped in. That must have been enjoyable for them when Ayana jetted away. Gulp. She's not coming back, is she?
I was already laughing at that point.
As I emphasized here a couple of weeks ago, Ayana was considered such an overwhelming favorite in the Olympic 5000 that all the betting shops pulled the odds on her. They didn't want any Ayana money. The only wagering prop on Ayana was 1/1 or Even money whether she would break the world record again. Somehow that reality faded a year later and we actually had some Dibaba favored over Ayana in many joints prior to the race.
I love people who handicap based on current form. Let's see, that's the focus everyone uses and not many people win. Huh. Could be a disconnect somewhere. When I worked in sportsbooks as supervisor the sportsbook manager always said he wished every bettor could watch every game and every event every day so he had information overload. That's what happened here. The basic fact that Ayana was light years superior was comically undervalued. Well done.

Levins ran 27:07 - the Canadian record until Ahmed broke it last night getting sixth. There is Hall in the HM and marathon. Ben True won a DL 5000. Jager is in contention to win the steeple and probably could run a great 5000. Tiernan had a bad night but won NCAA over Cheserek. Cheserek had a much better NCAA career than some guys who were top 15 last night. I haven't read Epstein's book and you don't present an argument. Does it state that the runner mentioned above should not bother?

I don't follow this either. I hope Komen was clean. Was your friend with him all the time. And if Komen was clean, why couldn't other runners benefit from doping?

This is just smears and slander. Ayana is the cleanest runner of all time. If a day goes by without a visit from testers, Ayana calls them up and visits them instead.
Jos is such an honest & honourable man, he is the bastion of cleanliness. Without his grace and integrity our sport would resemble downtown Mogadishu.
Not sure what has been said but after re-watching I can't help but question how a woman can do that off no races. Now I know many will say she trains hard and blah blah blah but at the elite level pretty much everyone is doing the same stuff. Yes she grew up at altitude and she may be a complete genetic freak but it doesn't look right when 1 individual is so dominant that it looks like that. I can remember back when the Chinese broke all the records and everyone initially was like 'wow' great coaching but we soon found out the truth. I don't know how many times Ayana has been tested but hopefully for the sports sake she is clean.
I think she gets away with a lot...remember when she cheated at the NYC half and pushed the Kenyan at the finish. She claimed she "wasn't even conscious of what my arms were doing."
She runs her mouth a lot for a cheat.
I don't think Ayana knows who Molly Huddle is.
