Frankly poll hours suck. Only a small subset of the population can vote between 9am-5pm and forcing the rest to try and squeeze in other times is just disenfranchises people. There is a reason why old people vote at higher rates. They are free when poles are open and don't have anything better to do. It is absurd that we don't have online voting. And yes there are numerous ways to keep the ballots private while preventing hacking and fraud.

And, wouldn’t you know, we now have some results per Decision Desk HQ. Handel has an early edge of 3 percent, as she’s up with 51.5 percent to Ossoff’s 48.5 percent. Of the 72,691 votes in, Handel has 37,435 votes and Ossoff has 35,256 votes. MSNBC’s Chris Matthews notes that Handel is expected to do well in the area that’s reporting, Fulton County, so this is not surprising she’s out to an early lead.

The Root reporter Jason Johnson, reporting on MSNBC live from Ossoff’s headquarters, is already predicting a Handel win tonight. If she does pull it off, expect the left and media to go absolutely bonkers.

Was he once a resident of the district? How is he even able to run if he is not?

Ossoff grew up in the district and he lives just two miles outside the district line today. He is living with his med-student fiance who needs to live close to work.

There are lots of congressmen on both sides of the aisle who don't actually live in the district they represent. The constitution only requires that he/she be an "inhabitant" of the state.

Actually, they said that she showed up (much) earlier than expected, which is seen as a positive for her (figured she would wait and agonize as results trickled in before making an appearance).

"Everything we're seeing is really encouraging," says Handel in ATL. "To win in-person absentee voting is very big. Very, very big."

This race means EVERYTHING is Ossoff wins (rebuke of Trump), and very little if Handel wins. Comparatively, the 2018 Senate will be largely tilted with so many Dems trying to defend seats.
