Last year at the trials was her last go-around I'm pretty sure. She had deferred medical school but was going to start up this past fall I believe.

Rather than focus on one athlete in the Brooks Beast organization a better question would be when will Brooks get rid of Danny Mackey? Very poor "coach" and that group has severely underperformed. They need to go out and entice one of the top collegiate distance coaches with a nice contract and get the group going. Their actual results are poor.

poor relative to what? It's not like they are getting the cream of the crop athletes, and the ones they do have that are close have been good: Mackey, Loxom, Heath

Ran into Cas in the Bahamas, he was wearing Brooks trainers. I don't think he has signed with another company yet because athletes usually ditch their old brand immediately after switching. His training is going well and he's expecting big things this year. I can't comment on his status with Brooks, but I do know that in terms of compensation he was in chorus at BB, when he is only 1 or 2 BB athletes who has made national teams.

Cas appears to have all of the tools to be a consistent 1:44x guy, but has been stuck running 1:45s for over 5 years.

Loxsom never won a title in college and he medaled in 2 out of 3 outdoor champs with Mackey, broke a world record, PR'd in the 800 and won a US indoor title.

Phoebe Wright was running 2:04 when she moved to Seattle for pharmacy graduate school. After training with Mackey she got to around 2:00 and placed 6th in 2 outdoor US championships.

Do you people use Google? It seems like normal letsrun BS, someone is being a hater and puts up false info to make someone innocent look bad.

I would say Mackey is doing fine.

What Loxsom actually did to get Brooks as a company involved is more interesting.

This is exactly what I thought. Nike trolls don't like Mackey because he does not bend for John Capriotti like everyone else seems to do in the sport.

It strikes me as kind of strange for the sponsor to cut ties as a result of issues between the athlete and the team. It seems like you could remove the athlete from the club without revoking the sponsorship, so I wonder why they decided to take the more drastic step.

It has to be a financial disagreement. If it was intrasquad issues he wouldn't still be with Mackey.

Moral and ethics issue with Brooks~ the woman he had an affair with is high up in Brooks and happens to also be married. It is a sad but true show of character > they don't want someone like that representing their brand. It's going to be a hard road finding a sponsor.

The team isn't fine with it. They are just trying to do it quietly. Mackey will keep coaching him because he is a good dude who feels bad for Casimir's silly mistakes but knows he is a good runner.

no idea if there is even an ounce of truth in this statement, however it is a scenario like this that seems the most likely. Can't think of anything else that would possibly result in a situation like this.

If it was financial, the likelihood of bBrooks fulfilling Loxsom's requests are pretty high considering he's the forefront of the brand on the track right now. They're not just going to turn around and tell him to get out if there is a disagreement...

Has to be something extremely personal and frowned upon by the company to seemingly immediately and spontaneously discontinue his sponsorship deal.

Whatever it is I doubt we'll ever get the full story so why not just respect the man's request for privacy.

This.And he doesn't want to leave him high and dry. Good coaches should help athletes off the track. Hopefully Casimir figures his personal issues out.
