Boston, this is all a lie. He did coke with a hooker, and banged her. The point has been made already... a pimp doesn't escort a woman to a hotel room, and then proceed to let her 'work' for free.

He knew the result of McPherson, and they made a story up, and got the hooker/pimp to testify. Probably paid them $10k, or something.

Is there actually any scientific evidence that you can test positive for cocaine from having contact with someone else's saliva?

People rub cocaine onto their gums. Of course you could test positive from contact with that.

A little birdie told me that his hair sample was negative, and that was the main reason his interesting story was believed by the arbiter and the lack of suspension supported by the IAAF and WADA. If he had intentionally consumed cocaine, even some time before, the hair sample would have been positive.

I don't think the ruling has all of the honest details about his "encounter", but in terms of an anti-doping rule violation, it isn't relevant if he paid a hooker or had a threesome or whatever. The science supports the implausible story that kissing a coked up girl can make you test positive for trace amounts of cocaine.

I don't buy his story and apparently no one else does either. The hooker is his personal issue, frankly, I don't care too much about that. I don't care a whole lot about the one-off recreational cocaine use either. There should be a separate less severe category for non-PED recreational drug use. Unfortunately WADA sees things differently and he's probably looking at a McPherson type ban. In a way, I want to say I feel sorry for him because I doubt he was attempting to chemically improve his performance, but then again, there is a price to pay for being careless and stupid.

Does anyone regularly read WADA decisions like this? Do they normally state proof if they have it? Did they just take these people's word as truth or did he have to provide proof?

It seems bizarre that they dude would just let the woman have sex with Barber without payment of some kind, unless he was like watching or something. But it sounds like he wasn't really doing that.

While cocaine might not be ergogenic, it certainly has psychological (brain-altering) aspects that can (for some people) lead to performance enhancement. It also increases alertness in low doses.

Basically, it's a collusive process. The drug-testers didn't argue the point, and if they accept the story, then why should the court bother to assess credibility? One can only wonder why...

The hair test would be actual evidence, but if it happened, the verdict didn't say so.

My sources tell me that the IAAF and WADA have already accepted his non-ban, they aren't going to fight this.
