Why is Simpson America's sweetheart and Rowbury isn't?

I am biased since I spent a good part of a day with Simpson a couple of years ago. She was genuinely nice. Rowbury might be as well, but I have never had the pleasure of meeting her.

As a track and cross country coach this is the first I have heard of Simpson being America's Sweetheart and Rowbury not! I think that is your opinion and observation and not a fact!
