I get the feeling people like Simpson more than Rowbury. I feel like Simpson comes off too cutesy-wutesy in interviews and Rowbury has more edge. I often see ppl hugging Simpson and cheering her more in the mixed zone and stuff

I think they're both likeable. The America Sweetheart thing may come from not being associated with Nike and OTC. Also, Jenny has the medals and wins at th championship level. That lasts longer than being the record holder without medals.
I don't think people hate Rowbury (?) She has a more reserved personality and perhaps is not as popular as Simpson. Both athletes command respect for their racing mettle (from me at least). Although, I must say that we need new blood/talent breaking through.

Yeah, that was a humongous blow for someone who rooted for Rowbury over Simpson seeing Simpson get the bronze w/Rowbury in 4th. I don't dislike Simpson so I wanted to be happy for her getting the bronze, but even I have to admit that this race sort of cements Simpson as the superior runner. No one race defines anyone
Are we in 6th grade? If you support someone, does that require u hate everyone else? This board is obsessively gossip-y. Honestly, if simpson looks at rowbury after a race, it turns into a 5 page thread.
Simpson is a major World Champion, she won the IAAF WC. Rowbury won Bronze. In the end, it's the old rivalry between Frisco and Boulder though.

Uh.. No.. It's two competitors vying for the top spot.
Not trying to be mean about appearances, but Rowbury's crazy makeup and lipstick isn't helping her image at all. She looks a little weird and even a bit scary, especially when staring down the camera with psycho eyes and big magenta lips when on the starting line.
Simpson, on the other hand, comes off as a normal person.
I hate that looks play that much of a role, but it's true. If Rowbury would lose the demented grandma look, she might be better received by fans.

Boy howdy. I hated that over the top scream-fest for getting third.
Because Rowbury wears that gaudy red lipstick and is always spitting before her races...so unattractive...
What happened to all the posts about Simpson's doping???
There were many posts on here about her drug use, but they've all been removed.
Alert: Another Letsrun cover up in progress.

I believe it's been confirmed Simpson received her cootie shot. Rowbury? Suspect.

Why are so many posts being removed about Simpson?

I think it comes across on the TV during introductions. Rowbury seems very focused but it comes across as cold to me. Simpson smiles and waves at the camera.
I am biased since I spent a good part of a day with Simpson a couple of years ago. She was genuinely nice. Rowbury might be as well, but I have never had the pleasure of meeting her.

Something about how she screws up her face in pretend-surprise and screams oh my god! immediately after crossing the finish line.
Jenny's also been at the top far longer than Shannon has, especially if you count her days dominating the NCAA. Most people regard any NOP runner with suspicion anyway, and not just for the grey zone stuff, but just the fact that it's seen as the rich, super exclusive group with all of Salazar's fancy toys and whatnot. I believe Wetmore's group is more associated with the Boulder running scene as a whole and is seen as more populist or whatever.
Regardless, they both represented the US very well and are amazing athletes. I wonder which Americans will be the next in line to follow their lead?

I like them both. Would've been awesome if they had big gone a bit earlier and gotten silver and bronze. Both seem likable to me.
Agree the Boulder vs Frisco thing could be an issue. Personally, I prefer the area around Frisco to Boulder. The trails up by Breck are sick. Both are too crowded but if you get up early the trails are not congested.

Hard to imagine that someone with the (well-deserved) nickname "Roid Rage Rowbury" would be unpopular......
