I always have to chuckle at the claim that Mo Farah can only run 12.9 in the 100. Just because that is what he ran on some meaningless All-Star competition show does not mean that is his actual top-end speed. 12.9 x 4 = 51.6. Mo closed some jog fest 5k faster than this just last year. He is easily an 11.5-11.8 guy without any sprint-specific work (whilst in peak 5000m shape, maybe not right this second).

Salazar claimed Mo's best flying 100 was 11.3, which lines up well with his 12.9 from standing start with reaction time and everything. Yes, it is completely possible for a distance runner to close 400m faster than your STANDING START 100 time. This is where most distance runners don't get it.
