I didn't misread your post, I was trying to offer a potential way "out" for usatf to avoid following their own rules. also never said anythign about a life ban.to recap, the usatf manual doesn't SPECIFY *WHEN* the sanctioning can happen (though we'd all hope it would apply to ANYONE, right? smh), so it *could* be argued that, since they've never been sanctioned AS COACHES, then they are "ok" to coach. contrast this with Remy K, who HAS been sanctioned as a coach, and thus can more clearly never coach for usatf. obviously I think it's complete bull$#** what usatf is pulling here by putting them on staff, but perhaps this is their justification for it. just a possibility, but seems like the only one they could try to hang their hat on. either way, usatf is pathetically corrupted, to the core.

There is absolutely zero justification for it. Every single athlete and coach who wants that gig, and is appropriately qualified, who's never committed an infraction of the code should be contacting USATF asap about this. LRC should step up to the plate and act in the interest of the sport, the athletes and coaches around the country, as well as the fans, and similarly lodge a formal complaint.

As long as they weren't in the VIP tent at Olympic trials, what's the harm?
