It was 50k. But tough drunk driving laws and seat belt laws are saving as many as 20k people/year. I'd say that is worth it.
Where are similar restrictions for guns? I don't see any meaningful restrictions on gun ownership and use. If there were, why does the US have gun murder rates of 3.6 per 100k, rather than 0.5 per 100k like they do in Canada (where there are strict gun control laws)? There is no gun control in the US.
You used to also have a constitutional right to property that included people. But now we don't have that. It is silly to think that the 2nd amendment can't be repealed. Of course it can.
