The original poster wasn't a troll. LetsRun.com can confirm that the Rupp, Fernandez, Verzbicas race was something the meet organizers tried to create as we've done a little research into this.

According to ESPN rise, Verzbicas was planning on doing it but something came up as Verzicas told them, "I won't be running the Millrose 2-mile. I was planning on it, but some things just came up preventing me. The Boston mile is a go as long as I stay healthy."

As for Fernandez, I spoke with OSU's Dave Smith yesterday to see if Fernandez was running. He said the Fernandez was approached by the organizers, that he like Verzbicas was interested in it but that ultimately they decided not to race there.

So the dream matchup won't be happening. Oh well.

PS.Since everyone on this board seems to enjoy time trials on an illegally oversized track in Washington, maybe we can watch Rupp do a time trial on a tiny track in NYC.

(The PS is a joke and just posted to rankle people who like oversized track/time trials).

Maybe Smith still has hopes of signing Verzbicas and doesn't want to risk that by violating NCAA rules.

Honestly, what do you guys have against longer tracks? And time trials>jog and sprints. Curious what made Verzbicas change his mind.

Rupp is racing in Nampa, Id on Saturday as well. Looks like just a tune up race before Millrose.

I think that Galen would win this race with ease, after trailing Fam for about a mile. Fam will fade badly after a mile, and then German will overtake Fam, before he falls down. Lukas will do well but is just not fast enough for two miles. Finish is Galen, Fam, Lukas (with German as a dnf).

Galen vs. Fam vs. Stephen Haas. This won't be competitive at all. When the rabbit drops off, Fam will keep leading with Rupp comfortably drafting behind. Easy win for Rupp. I'm surprised they couldn't get more athletes in there to challenge Rupp.

What is up with the women's 1500? Are there really only 2 athletes?

I wonder how many of them are considering committing to the University of Delaware.

The Mens Shot is the best thing going then comes the Millrose Multi Challenge. Eaton, Clay, Hardee. Those are 3 of the best 5 or 6 multi guys in the world.

Anyone have a winners list throughout the history of the meet. I know Lagat has a ton of victories in the mile but I am thinking that Bershawn Jackson has had 4 or 5 consecutive wins in the 600y.

The Rosas are very good and Joe is a true beast in XC. That said, if you are unaware that LV was going for German's record in that race which led to his crashing and burning which led to the Rosa win then you really don't know much about that of which you speak.

The simple truth is that the Rosas were racing LV. But LV was racing GF.
