I know it will be the phillies.
I couldn't be less interested in a World Series. I was hpoing to avoid the regional matchup, either LAA-LAD or NYY-Philly. A West coast matchup would have been more preferable; not as much as LAD-NYY though. Yawn.
Who gives a flying FUC& where the two teams are from. This year they are the two best teams and will be playing for the title. FUC& the west coast too!!!!!
what up yankee fans, 4 - 0

In what category? The teams actually match up very close in pitching. The Phillies surprisingly have the lower team ERA.
For the WS it'll down to current pitching, and based on the series with the Dodgers, I think the Phillies currently have the upper hand. Even their bullpen is looking hot right now.
Seriously? You're going to claim no DH makes their offenses equal but makes no difference in pitching numbers? OK. Yankees ERA in AL is much better than Phillies in NL.
It is easier to post a lower ERA in the NL than the AL. League average ERA is typically considerably higher in the AL, because of the DH but also because of some imbalance.
Where's the Philly fan who was bashing his team after they lost one game?? What did I say? No one can predict with certainty the results of a seven game baseball series, particularly between fairly evenly matched teams. The Phillies have some incredible talent in the field and on the mound. Just Howard, Utley, and Rollins make you a playoff team. But this is a special year for the Yankees. And they are loaded. So, I give them the edge.
The Yankees are up you FOOL, 6- 4. LMFAO!!!!
In all candor, the baseball season is too long for me. I simply watch the playoffs. From what I've seen, the Phillies are going to spank the Yankees. I have no dog in this hunt.
7-6!!!!!!!FOOL!

Um, that was my point. Thanks for repeating it.
Phils in 6.
Lee is as dominant as Sabathia, and Howard is as dominant as A-rod without the hype. Plus, imagine if Utley and Werth actually show up for this series, unlike the NLCS (until the last game for Werth).
And factor in rollins, victorino, and ibanez. Add a DH for some of the games...that's quite a squad.
Take away a DH from the yankees, not nearly as strong of a lineup. And the Phils bullpen seems to be coming around right when they need it too. Hopefully they will keep feeling good.
Sciosia is signed through 2018. He's got nothing to lose by making stupid decisions. His decision squandered the 4-0 lead. He'll blow it again on Saturday.
You just watch, mister.
Sincerely,

OK, ERA difference between NL and AL was oversight on my part... but I still want to know what categories set the Yankees pitching above the Phillies. It's hard to deny that they match up pretty good. This debate will shake itself out in the WS, if the Yankees can make it there.
Interesting article in SI.com. "If the Yankees do have to go seven games to win the ALCS, for the World Series they would have to use:
• A.J. Burnett against Cliff Lee in Game 1 (unless they chose Andy Pettitte on short rest, something he hasn't done since 2006, and only three times in the past nine years).
• a fourth starter, such as Chad Gaudin, for Game 4 or
• Burnett on short rest in Game 4 and Sabathia on short rest in Games 2 and 5.
Now do you see why the World Series looks very different if the Angels win Game 6?"
Tom Verducci- SI.com
I say advantage Phillies, with this scenario. If you're a Yankee fan, you must win game 6 tomorrow. If game 6 is rained out on Saturday, they will even be more screwed by having one less day to set up their pitching rotation for the WS- (assuming they even make the WS). Go Angels!!
I wonder if the Phillies might think of starting Lee in games 1,4 and 7
I suppose that depends on how the first 3 games go.
Otherwise game 4 would be Blanton or Happ.
Game two: Hammels or Pedro?
Game three: Pedro or Hammels?
I say pitch Pedro in Yankee stadium or LA.
Phillies have last year's Cy Young winner in Lee and last year's World Series MVP in Hammels to go with multi Cy Young winner Martinez who happens to have a 0.0 ERA in 7 innings in the playoffs this year.
Brad Lidge hasn't blown any saves in the playoffs, Chad Durbin hasn't given up a hit. But Ryan Madsen always seems to let the first batter or two get on.
I think everyone of their 1-8 hitters have produced in the playoffs so far.
The phillies are improved over last year. Will they execute?
Hard to see the Phillies losing 4 out of 7 unless Manuel gets an itchy trigger finger and uses 7 pitchers per game.
Lee and CC are a coin flip for a win, Lee vs. anyone else is a win. Phillies will kill Burnett, Pettite might win a game for the Yankees. If the Phillies get 3 starts from Lee (worst case scenario- 7 game series) they win 2 of those. They beat Burnett at least once, then all they have to do is win one more game against Burnett once or Pettite/another pitcher? It might take 6 or 7, but there will be another parade down Broad Street. And for the record, I am advocating pitching Pedro in game 2 in NY because that seems like exactly his moment to shut them down.
GO PHILLIES!!!!

Nah, Girardi is proven to have an itchy trigger finger.
Phillies over the Angels in 6
What happened to all the trash talking Yankee fans? I think they're getting worried.
