OK, slightly off topic. We were having dinner with friends this evening and talked about Seinfeld quite a bit (they're both big fans). Anyway, it came up in conversation that Seinfeld is a huge Superman fan, and so there's a Superman reference in every episode.

Throughout the Seinfeld Saga, Jerry has displayed a fascination with Superman. From a magnet of Superman on his refrigerator to his numerous casual references to Superman and Superman Lore, the show really was one of the great promotional agents for the Superman saga while it was on the air.
Some of the numerous references to Superman and Superheros are listed below:

Jerry has referred to Elaine as Lois Lane
Jerry refers to a girlfriend's apartment as the Fortress of Solitude which is a place Superman stays in according to the comic books. In the comics the fortress is in a cold desolate area and requires a giant key to open and gain entry.
Jerry wonders aloud if the reason one of his girlfriend's always wears the same dress is because she has a bunch of them just like Superman has a bunch of identical costumes and capes.
When Jerry dates a woman that will not laugh at his jokes he comments that jokes bounch off of her like she is Superman.
Jerry refers to one of Elaine's poor boyfriends as "the got no green lantern" a reference to another DC comics character (other than Superman) Green Lantern
Jerry refers to people he meets that apppear to be opposites of George and Kramer as the bizarros. The bizaroos were a group of beings invented in a World's Finest Comic Book starting Superman and Batman. Bizaroos are opposites, they see bad as good and good as bad. Bizaroo Batman has a useless utility belt rather than a fully functional one like Batman for example.
Jerry refers to people's nemesis as Lex Luther a nemesis of Superman. "Who is your Lex Luther" is a phrase Jerry uses often. Elaine's Lex Luthur is Sue Ellen the woman that wears a bra as a top for example.
Jerry picks the phrase Jor-El as his bank pin number, this is the same name that Superman's father used on Krypton.
When one of Elaine's boyfriend "the mimbo" in in the hospital as a result of a rock climbing accident which disfigures him, George brings Superman comic books to cheer him up.
Jerry compares the lipreading powers of one of his girlfriend's to Superman's X-ray vision. George considers lipreading just a skill like juggling.
After George orders a supposed cure for baldness from China, Jerry comments that a world without baldness is like nation of Supermen.
Jerry wins a race against someone who thought he cheated on a race in High School to the music from Superman. Music from Superman was also used during one of the clip shows summarzing past episodes from Seinfeld.
Jerry has referred to people's weaknesses as Kryptonite an agent which also weakens Superman.
Out of 180 episodes, there are 24 that include a verbal reference. The refrigerator magnet does not appear until the 56th episode and the figurine doesn't show up until the 81st episode. The final count is 124 episodes with a Superman reference of some sort and 56 with no Superman reference whatsoever.
Jerry's doesn't know his girlfriend's name, but knows it rhymes with a part of the female anatomy. "Mulva"

In ranking Jerry's girlfriends, have to mention the one who was so good-looking she could get whatever she wanted (sweet talks her way into the sold-out movie, sweet talks the cop out of the traffic ticket, etc.) At the end of the episode she dumps Jerry but still makes him walk her dog. One of the few to dump him without having some specific weird incident as an excuse.
I dont know about anyone else but did the series finale suck or what I was thoroughly disappointed. I think he should bring it back for one more season, they would all be money.
the one where kramer gets an intern. Kramerica industries. And they test the oil blatter out.
Two great episodes- one where they all go to the New Jersey Devils game, and Putty paints his face like the Devil. After a victory for the Devils, Putty is going crazy down the street, runs up to the car with the priest in it and starts screaming about "the Devils!!! The Devils!!!" The priest faints.
Also, gotta love Kramer's reality tour- same episode as when Jerry shaves his chest, and he is stuck on the bus as the tour takes a detour to the dump. As his chest hair starts growing back in, it starts getting itchy, and Jerry can't stand it anymore- runs outside and does a great werewolf impression- scratching himself and howling at the full moon.
Oh yeah- anything with Newman...
Good ones mentioned for sure, but unless I skipped over it, you all have missed my favorite:
My favorite - Kramer vs. Frank Costanza when they develop a bra for men. Kramer wants to call it "the bro"; Frank wants to call it "the manzeier". One of the best moments ever when Frank has his shirt off and he and Kramer are dancing with each other and Estele opens the door.
My second favorite - Kramer burns down Susan's parent's log cabin, and George and Jerry return a box of letters to Susan's father. Susan (George's girlfriend) opens the box and starts to read a letter to her father from John Cheever..."Last night with you was bliss. I fear my orgasm has made me a cripple." Other great quotes from that episode..."You come inside, you wipe your wheels." "John! Who's John!?" "I KNEW it!" "Time is what he's indicating there."
On a related note, this is quite funny. J. Peterman (who Elaine worked for) was in bankrupty a few years ago (1999). The company re-organized and is now selling furniture. The original J. Peterman has partnered with -- you guessed it -- John O'Hurley, the actor on "Seinfeld" who portrayed J. Peterman in the new business. Life imitates art?
I love "the race", but my favorite of all time was when George came up with the perfect comeback.
"Hey George, the ocean called and they're running out of shrimp."
"Oh yeah Reilly, well the jerkstore called and they're running out of you!"
"What's the difference George, you're their all-time best-seller."
"Oh, Oh yeah, well I slept with your wife. Ha."

One more running reference (and a great scene): the gang is at a party in an apartment that overlooks the NYCM route. George thinks wearing a wedding ring will help get him chicks but, of course, it has the opposite effect. He proclaims himself "Costanza, Lord of the Idiots." Just then, one of the partygoers (in Gallowalking spirit) shouts out the window, "You're all winners!" George then says, "but, suddenly, a new contender emerges."
How about when Kramer uses some company's restroom and just starts working there. When he gets fired he says, "Well, I don't really even work here." Boss, "That's what makes this so hard."
