Congrats Milne. That was an awesome kick. I did not expect anything less.
Sully has run in 13 National Championship 1500's since 1992(92, 93, 94, 95, 97, 98, 99, 2000, 01, 03, 04, 05, 07)and lost only 5 and never finsihed worse than 3rd (97-hood, 98-klassen & agar, 99-hood, 01-hood, 07-mckenzie). No guarantee he wins, but it's the smart bet. The only one in the field other than Sullivan who has won a National Championship is Brannen, and that was in a year Sully didn't run.
ummm sully didnt win last year... mckenzie did

Okay here's the deal....Peninsula Runners is a big supporter of the sport and this year we are particularly interested in the men's 1500m. We watched the 1500m at the Jerome and were thrilled to see 6 guys break 3:40 in the same race.
Kevin Sullivan and Taylor Milne already have the "A" standard but we want to see at least a third runner with the "A" standard. We want to see someone step-up and agree to pace-make the boys to an "A" standard performance at the Olympic Trials. Peninsula Runners is willing to throw some money at a rabbit for the boys at the trials.
So...Nathan Brannen, Kurt Benninger, Graeme Wells, Geoff Martinson, Kip Kangogo and anyone else.....we have $2000 for you guys to spend on rabbits. Here is the critieria for your rabbits to get the money:
1) The first lap must be under 58 seconds.
2) The 800m split must be under 1:56.
3) The 1200m split must be under 2:54.
If you can meet this criteria and if a some runner makes the "A" standard, $2000 will be paid to the guys responsible for helping with the pace. To the runner that makes the standard....when you get interviewed by CBC, you must mention CBC during the interview.
To the boys involved....please e-mail Peninsula Runner at
peninsularunners@telus.netor post right on this page with your plan.
Good luck, boys!

Scola, you up for a pacing job? 2k in it for you. Of course you would have to be Canadian (Jersey is close, but not yet Canadian) and there is that little part about sub 58, 156 and 254... Maybe Joel P will make a quick comeback if his mommy will let him. He always wanted Taylor hanging off his back for 3 minutes.
nah, you know my feelings on canada. any place that gives the world sydney crosby is a place i want to avoid. and if that's not matty or sal, what's left? jesse? royal? the rare english sentence out of freier? nope, still going matty
Milne......you are a gun!!! What a machine. I ran with you at High Point way back in the days. Best of luck at the games mate. Looking forward to watching you on TV mate. Legend!!
