Why do gays want to get married anyway? It's a christian institution, and anyone who is gay is clearly not a christian, and if they are, they need to get something straight. Gays get married because they want to destroy the whole concept of the family and get everyone to accept their lifestyle. It is very destructive, and gays often have a life span of less than 50 years. Gays shout 'discrimination' when people criticize their choices, but it's not just any other choice. It's a bad choice, and it does absolutely no good for them. Their is no such thing as a gay gene. Their may be genetic tendencies to be gay, but like drinking, you can make a choice not to engage in this activity. Why should we accept this debilitating lifestyle and make it normality? Why are we stretching the definition of normality? Where does it end? Pretty soon we'll be able to marry donkeys and parents will be able to marry children, and it will go on and on. This is destroying the foundation of our society. That is why I believe we should do something about gay marriage and homosexuality and not just accept it blindly as if it were just a preference. You could 'prefer' not to have a government or 'prefer' not to have any law enforcement, but that would be only destructive. Why should we accept homosexuality when homosexuality often aggressively opposes straights?
I recommend the book "What's Wrong With Same-Sex Marriage?" by James Dobson. If you are not convinced after reading this, then you are simply refusing to change your mind. Come on, guys. Be a little open-minded. Think about it...

Not nearly as dumb as yours. Marriage in the West has indeed been a Christian institution. In fact until the notion of 'civil marriage' was invented by the French Revolution, there was no matrimony to speak of apart from church marriage.

Do the economic and legal incentives couples in our society acquire by getting marriage have anything to do with Jesus?
What does the fact that 'civil marriage' has supposedly only been around since the French Revolution have anything to do with the meaning of marriage in America in 2007? That was 200 years ago.
In summary, marriage was not "invented" by Christians, marriage has never been exclusive to Christians, and marriage in today's, modern society is a social, economic, and legal institution that for many people is completely secular.
