How old are Jerry’s kids ? Do they run? Run in college ?
His son competed at Stanford and Oregon, very good in high school, but never really translated that success at the college level. His daughter, now an assistant coach at Oregon ( haha ), ran at UW and had a similar trajectory: strong in high school, but didn’t have much impact in college. I can’t make this stuff up 😂
She ran confidently early in her career at UCLA until that NCAA semifinal race against Tuohy and several other big name collegians. Barnett went to the front and led for a long time until being accidentally tripped from behind by O'Sullivan.
After that race I always expected her to eventually rebound but as others have noted she tends to fare worst in the big races.
She ran great at Swedish championships neck and neck with Nielsen to claim a world championship spot. I would say that was a great performance in her most important race of all of them.
The USA has a "no double taxation" tax treaty with Sweden, which also means there's no real tax avoidance. I don't think she is at a high enough level as a pro to make tax planning much of an issue. It's a good 'problem' to have.... just ask Mondo.
