I don't understand why guys like you seek conflict sometimes. And it's f-ing annoying when you don't bother to read the content prior and just jump in with what you believe is a salient point which doesn't really add anything. Be better.
Firstly the discussion with Snowy was regarding the 5000/10000m on the track okay? Nobody is disputing the GOAT status of Bekele in terms of distance running. Well aware of the XC prowess, the marathon portfolio. No Salazar? Well Bekele had Jos - pick your poison there.
But purely looking at the track (as was the discussion), if Bekele hadn't held those WR's (let's say he still even ran faster than Farah but not under the WRs - maybe 12.42, 26.25 or so), it would be hard to put him above Farah who also pretty active on the circuit and won a lot at DL/GP level. That was the point being made.
Bekele 8 golds on the track? Okay, Farah 10, including doing twice what Bekele could only do once at both the Olympic Games and World Champs - win the 5/10 double. Farahs record at major events on the track is quantifiably better, I don't actually see what argument there is against that. Each were equally dominant but Farah put himself out there more and delivered.
Multiple things can be true at the same time - a good concept to understand and accept here. Bekele can be and is the greatest of all time. Mo Farah can have a more impressive resume over 5000m and 10000m at major championships. Which he does.
