How are we three pages deep and no one has mentioned not just the headline of this meet, but THE ENTIRE INDOOR SEASON: JOSH HOEY WILL BREAK THE 600 WORLD RECORD
Hoey looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and walks like a duck.
Actually, I would be quite surprised if Jane doesn't run at least 14:49.
upon all the accolades Diljeet showered on her pre-NCAAs. As well as all her sub-19 xc races these past several weeks. Along with the next dozen or so runners who finished within 20 seconds of her -- despite pre-race estimates that Jane & Doris would likely be 30 seconds or more faster than #3.
Believe Jane -- or maybe someone else -- will run 14:40 or so. With a few more under 14:50.
Have to believe Valby's 14:52.18 absolute college records is as good as gone.
So if Jane runs 15:06 and qualifies comfortably as a freshman for ncaa indoor nats, that's considered a disappointment?

....and this is the likely immediate goal for the young lady.
Obviously the track is not “running slow.” Elbadra closed in 30.64, a fairly world class performance. Allie Zealand made the race, splitting 67.92 (8:29 pace) from 1600 to 2000, and finishing 3rd in 8:44.71. That’s a 23 second improvement from this meet last year for Zealand, who turned 19 in September.
