Morris came on late in the year. I think she won the Sir Walter Miler, then flew to Cleveland and won the Guardian Mile two days later. Now she takes the 5th Ave Mile
It actually is more amazing than that.
G. Morris hopped on a plane after The Sir Walter Mile, and won the Guardian Mile the very next day.
G. Morris also placed 2nd in the Men’s Elite Gaurdian Mile:

She is very fast but if you think about it this is just as fast as the slowest man which is why those races are even more inspiring if you ask me but still she did a very good job!
I thought Nuguse and Hoey would be top two with Drew Hunter in 3rd.
Way off on Hoey. Guess he is a 800m guy.
Hobbs will bounce back from this subpar season
I think Hoey is just gassed from a long season. He’s definitely better at the 800, but with a 3:29 1500 we can’t call him “just” and 800 guy. He may also be a bit of an indoor specialist, he was unbeatable this indoor season, and even all the way back to high school his 1:47 PB was an indoor mark
This year, yes, because of the relative timing. E.g., when in the press release they quote Nuguse saying he's "excited" to be closing out his season with this race, it's like...come on. No need to be completely implausible!
Everyone needs to realize this is the new norm. Coe wants longer seasons, which means the championship meet is mid September. The only year it won't happen is the Olympic year. If 5th Avenue Mile continues to schedule at this time of year it's going to get the leftovers.
Next year's World Ultimate Athletics Championships begin September 11. Similarly, the 2027 World Athletics Championships in Beijing begin September 11.
Using your own warped logic, Tuohy once she's entered the testing pool hasn't looked the same as a pro. See how that works and how disingenuous that is?
The twenty year old Irishman came 4th in 3:48.4. This was despite several months out due to an infection in his kneecap.. Last year he also ran a 5000m in 13:13.
If this kid was American or Kenyan then you guys would be chatting about him non-stop.
Kessler has been just disappearing at the end of races all the way back to Pre. Demonstrating no finishing speed this season. It's like hes going backwards in the last 200m. As a big fan of his for years, hope he figures it out.
Bad year for Hobbs. A lot of things to reevaluate this off season
So Tuohy knocked a second off her Sanders Scorcher time. I can see she’s built up the upper body for the late sprints, but she hasn’t improved her basic foot speed this year. She was indeed running hard at the start, but Schweitzer and others were already comfortably pulling away. I’m no coach, but I would advise changes in training .
This has to be the golden age of US mile. The depth is so deep. Today is the first time I heard first heard the names of first two female finishers. Both of them beat Olympians and other top names handily.

When I typed that, I originally thought it was the next day. But then I remembered that the Sir Walter Miler was a night race under the lights and I thought, "There is no way she could have taken a red-eye flight from Raleigh to Cleveland and raced the next day." I figured there must be a day in there but I didn't feel like looking up the date of the Guardian Mile. Good catch pointing this out; it does make it even more impressive.

There isn't a red-eye. Gracie (and Sam Prakel and John Reniewicki) flew to Cleveland the next morning for the Guardian Mile, which was about 22 hours after Sir Walter.
