H'm. So a runner can sign a purported 850K contract with one team, and just go to another? Cool.
Do you really not understand even the simplest aspects of this sport? She signed a contract with a company—New Balance. Somebody above already explained this to you. Both teams in question are sponsored by New Balance.
Don't know that you totally understand either. Team Boss, unlike Team New Balance, is not sponsored by New Balance. Joe is an independent coach that runners from any brand can go to, instead of running for their brand-sponsored team, such as Brooks Beasts, or ON. Yes, he had several New Balance sponsored athletes, such as Emma and Cory, but Gabbi is sponsored by Adidas and Aisha Praught-Leer by Puma.

Sorry for the repetition, the previous post addressed this while I was typing🙄

ON also generically sponsors runners, who are not in the On Athletics Club. Brand sponsor/coach often linked, but do not have to be.
regardless of how anybody feels about Coogan, Valby, and the 1500 girls, there is a story to be told coming out of that camp.
Is coogan basically unemployed now? Just coaching ESP?
Maclean set multiple PR’s this season at the age of 28. But that is not necessarily a reflection on Coogan’s coaching. Rather, I think the real story here is that very long stints of altitude (actually living at altitude), is a very good thing for both mid-distance and distance runners, regardless of what smoke some USATF associated-scientist was blowing Team Boston’s way in the past.
Coogan might still be a good coach for Valby, but maybe he would need to relocate to altitude, as well. 😁

Yup happy to accept the correction that Boss is not sponsored by NB. Thanks for pointing that out.

im not criticizing anybody here. Coogan is obviously a good coach, and I definitely think more altitude is beneficial.
This is the only sport in the world where something like this could happen, and nobody knows what the hell is going on. And almost nobody is talking about it.
