SCR clearly has mental health issues. She has previously talked about wanting to become a sports psychologist after her track career because of her own issues with mental health and being a pro athlete. I really hope that her managers and the good folks at Nike (joking . . . ) have her working intensively with a good sports psychologist. It certainly seemed like SCR in Paris was a changed person and she was being managed better with no more professional social media presence and no more rants and back and forth with haters.
IMO SafeSport is a CYA organization much like companies that comes in to provide any of that "Don't Be An A$$hole" type workplace training (sexual harassment, sensitivity training, etc..) That way when someone does some type of bad behavior the company can say that they provided training, the employee knew better and even signed something saying they attended and understood what's expected. The employee can now be fired without claiming they didn't know better.
SafeSport provides that for schools, and allows schools to track coaches that have been fired due to creepy/abusive behavior. At it's worst it can also used by athletes that hold grudges against coaches, other athletes, etc.. as a club to hammer people, smear them, get them fired.

Actually, if you're paying real attention, it *does* seem like she's a changed person --just not changed enough yet.
She's been pleasant and forthcoming with the press, warm towards other athletes, and has expressed what looks like genuine concern for behaving better, and acknowledging the impact of her behavior, etc. (She also seems to have abandoned the ridiculous makeup and cos-play at the same time --which I think is a great development, too.)
She gives the vibe of someone who's very decent at heart, but is so damaged by trauma and slights from her younger life, she's always on a hair-trigger --and tends to react in knee-jerk ways that hurt herself more than anyone else.
She seems like she's really trying, and really making progress --and that should be commended and supported.
Unless of course you're just a typical LR troll whose greatest satisfaction comes from mocking and running someone down, and kicking them when they're down --especially if the someone happens to be a woman, and/or black, and/or from a less-advantaged background, etc.
In that case, you should probably just go on being who you are, because unlike SCR, you're probably beyond salvaging --and not worth the effort.

Nah.
Not even near a typical LetsRun troll, by a long shot. Domestic violence in any capacity should not be grouped into "kicking them while they're down" for Christ's sake. But, every major sport handles domestic violence in the completely wrong way and 2nd chances are always given. Nothing to see hear, move along.
