Update: Athing Mu ENTERS USAs with 2.5 hours to spare!

The contenders for the team look to me like Wiley, Akins, Wilson, Rose, and I think a good shot to qualify for Willis, who is running well and has a very good championship record. Athing Mu could well make that drop back to 1:57 for this but who knows?

She will not make the team. There is too much drama and uncertainty with Kersee. What is this guy's problem?

Several dozen forum posts and a LR front-page news item on her entry would suggest that people really do care.

The USATF entry list shows her as "Unsubmitted". Checked it a few minutes ago.

That just means she hasn't declared or scratched yet (has until midnight)

Declarations close tomorrow at 11:59pm Pacific (2:59am Eastern)

Just as Mu needs to learn to run in a pack, the other runners need to learn how to run with her. It goes both ways.

Some athletes simply need more room because of their running style or physicality. Mu has long legs and a decent stride & she needs more room. Hence her preference to front run. She is not the first athlete to be uncomfortable running in a pack and she wont be the last.

If other runners want to get too close to her, then it's at their own risk.

I feel sorry already for the girls she will she certainly impede and trip.
