I think this and Arcadia from this year suggest that the WIN may be more important than times in a race like this. Many of them ran 3:57-4:04 in good situations, they have the time under their belt already, now its for bragging rights

Can we ban sit and kicks in time trials? These meets are for PRs. Why would strength runners like Kitchen let it go slow? He should have started pushing the pace earlier.

Bruh this is supposed to be the best/fastest high school boys class so far. Even more than 2023 supposedly? Yet they don't take races and run slow/tactical here just like they did at Arcadia!
Pacer did an excellent job of not pacing and than getting in everyone's way on the backstretch of Lap 3.

Latham was flat, probably from not having raced in a long time after his DQ ended his season. Only ran 4:07 for second to last.

Hard to blame the pacer when none of the runners wanted to go with him. 2:03 800m split for the leader turned it into a sit and kick for no reason.

But Nauman is really, really, really good. Home in 54.7 for a 3:58 is outrageous
You guys are kinda weird. I’m biased because my Iowa guy won with a crazy last lap, but I thought it was a good race with two kids going deep in the well neck and neck the last 100m, clocking 3:58.65 and 3:59.00. Seems like a good high school mile to me 🤷🏻♂️
