This is the part where you demonstrate the validity of my argument.
You enjoy feeling powerful and exercising control over others. It's a tic which will his consistently lead you to voting for the Republican Party.
This won't improve health outcomes or benefit taxpayers. You simply relish imposing restrictions on those who are less able or less fortunate than you, for fun.
Wrong, I don't enjoy any of it. I don't enjoy having my paycheck pillaged so a significant portion of what I earn gets forcefully taken from me and given to lazy people who refuse to contribute. Its not a satisfaction of having power or anything else. If I had my way, I would earn what I earn, they would earn what they earn, and we would all have the choice to buy whatever we wanted. But seeing as how my hard earned money is forcefully taken and given to others, the least they could do is not turn around and complain about they handouts they are given
Okay then, do you enjoy having your paycheck pillaged with a portion of your earnings forcefully taken & given to countries like Ukraine & Israel for military aid?
Try $175B given to Ukraine to fight it's stupid war with Russia. And Ukraine is not even a member of NATO!
Or how about $310B in total economic and military assistance to Israel! (and Isreal has the highest number of Billionaires per capita!). The United States has also provided large foreign aid packages to other Middle Eastern countries, particularly Egypt and Iraq, but Israel stands apart.
Israel has long been the leading recipient of U.S. foreign aid, including military assistance. That aid has come under heightened scrutiny amid Israel’s conflicts with Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran.
I don't see how this is at all a 180? There is a difference between the government banning something, and them simply saying that they will stop handing it out for free (which is what is happening here). It is possible to both be against the NYC large soda ban and for this policy without any contradiction.

Think man before you start knocking your tax money going to help American citizens!
Yes, I am absolutely against those things as well. But this thread was not about those things and this thread is not about all of the ridiculous things taxpayer money is wasted on. I stayed on topic.
And the way to help American citizens isn't to give them free chips, soda, beer and smokes for a lifetime. It's to encourage them to become self sufficient and make good life choices.
The ban is good but it's funny that "republicans" are now OK with the government telling people what they can and can't do. I hope none of them ever fly a "Don't Tread on Me" flag.
Ummm, last I checked food stamps were paid for with taxpayer dollars. Eat whatever you want on your dime, but if you're eating on taxpayer sweat then expect rules.
But you seem far more upset over your hard earned money being "forcibly" taken & used on the poor than be given to Ukraine & Israel. Lol.
Let's just be honest here: The wealthy & most taxpayers hate the poor...hate the low-income...hate the homeless.
"Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.”
But we do feed the poor. We may no longer feed them chips and soda. But we feed them just about everything else. On top of that, we pay for their schooling, housing, utilities, insurance, etc. Can you not see how ridiculous it is that you all are so angry about them not getting free soda, when we pay for just about everything else in their lives? In some states, we may even pay for their crack pipes! Lucky us, taxpayer money well spent.
