This thread was started before the press release came out. It had the title of, "says they will finally announce their first competitions and athletes on May 21."
Make sure the prize money is in escrow before you sign up.
Yes, what is to prevent another GST, or the tech bros just back out at the last minute. What is the legal structure of the EGs? Who are shareholders? Or is this another case of "Trust me. This is a great idea! You'll see!"

It's another case of "Trust me. This is a great idea! You'll see!" with the difference that there is purportedly more money behind it.
I doubt they will be able to find fans or sell tickets to watch a bunch of doped up losers like Fred Kerley, so if I were an athlete I would still ask for guarantees that the money will actually be there. But since the athletes have burned their bridges with the governing bodies that prohibit doping, they may not have anywhere else to go at this point and probably don't have much bargaining power.
Went to the Enhanced+ website and clicked the "Get Enhanced" button. It leads to a page for TRT done by a remote doctor. Wow what a novel idea (LOL). Enhanced+ also has stated they will offer supplements at some future time. Will the supplements be NSF certified? The IPO has been prevalued at $1.2 billion dollars. Will it pan out? If not it will give a whole new meaning to the phrase "pump and dump".
Only if she wants to be banned indefinitely by World Athletics. As Seb Coe has said, the event is grotesque and I don’t understand why so many of you seem to be interested in it.
Depressing how funding is available for this debacle but not for GST.
Depressing that millions of dollars are given away as prize money to Kenyan dopers every weekend at road races when they should be at the enhanced games.

It is just a non hypocritical version of the Olympics which are very popular. Look at 2016 when there was a monster drugs bust in Spain of Jama Aden's group in which an entire arsenal of PEDs were uncovered ranging from steroids to EPO. Loads of big name athletes were associated with this group such as Dibaba and Farah. The whole thing was basically swept under the carpet and all athletes from the group were allowed to compete in the Rio Olympics mainly because it was/is taboo to openly admit to PED use in the sport. If the Enhanced Games are a success this attitude may change as PED use may be seen to be more acceptable from a sports marketing point of view.
The whole thing has a very "cheer for the gladiators as they kill each other!!!" vibe to it.
I understand that football and boxing can leave people scarred for life and shorten their lifespans, but paying men to grow breasts and women to become Marita Koch seems like a whole new level of depravity.
The irony is that this has been going on in mainstream sports for decades. Have you ever heard of Caityln Jenner?

If the enhanced games are legit, why is it, with only 5 months to go, only 3 T&F athletes have signed up?
Regardless of what you claim happened in 2016, the EG is disgusting and it will be one-off, never to return. It will make it look like GST hit a financial home run.

Nobody said "legit". Very few athletes have signed up because - unlike GST - Lord Coe announced to go after them all.
But indeed, they will need a lot more stars to have any chance of being successful. Maybe Asinga, Knighton, all the banned super Kenyans from Chepngetich to Kipruto and Kandie - but long distance won't be exciting enough, sadly.
First, a (semi) legal question: Can Lord Coe really ban any participant in the Enhanced Games? Presumably there will be no drug testing, so no busts at or after the EGs. Hypothetical question: An athlete - never busted for PEDs - competes at the EG. Stays out of competition for a year afterwards, then comes back to regular, "philosophical" track, as His Lordship has called it, and tests negative. Can this athlete really be banned? Would this be a matter for the Court for Arbitration of Sport? Discus.
