Young fans of the sport won't remember those years, but if you won all four meets, you got like a literal block of gold. It was awesome!

I am sick of the prize money being the hook/clickbait for every video. I’m happy for the athletes that they are getting a life changing payday but as a viewer I couldn’t care less on some level how much prize money was involved. Track is not supposed appeal for the same reasons as Mr Beast. I’m much more interested in seeing an elite performance and a good race.
The stupid point system and prize money structure does not work. I also won't be watching these 'new' meets. Track fans want fast times. Not warm up jog for 5 laps followed by 2.5 laps of racing.

GST is the perfect case for watching the replay. On Peacock you fast forward through the 45 minutes of nothing, watch the first race, fast forward 10 minutes, watch the next race, repeat. The 3 hour broadcast can be watched in 45 minutes.
100%, I saw a 8 plus 3,000 and Grant lost in a time Faith Kipyegon could have medaled in and I just watch Grant Fisher win a 5k in 13:40, but just yesterday I saw Berihu AREGAWI win 12:50 race, in a race that the top 3 were within 1 second. I much more entertaining race that watch Fisher be the 2nd and 3rd stringers and jump for joy because he won something, another $100,000 I guess. GS is just a money grab, nothing more!
Great point, I'm old enough to watch a past prime Jim Ryan and Kip Keino battling it out and Ben Jipcho winning 2mile/1 mile doubles that league didn't long and I was sad as a youth to see what became of the great Jim Ryan.

I didn't watch Aregawi because flotrack is sh*t and broadcast is terrible. No I'm not getting your vpn letsrun. The Peacock deal is why GST is working so far. Simple, easy, and you get to watch the whole race no interruptions.
Such a disingenuous post, all of these problems would have existed regardless of this being GST or a random pro circuit race in the US.

GST is an experiment and so far the product has only gotten better. They should've known that US women's/men's distance runners (apart from Fischer) don't belong in elite fields, but otherwise their isn't much to complain about (maybe consolidate hurdles into 110/300m).

I love what they women distance runners are doing respectable to fast times and great competition, the men are unwatchable. The women's 3k was almost as fast as the men's and that's all you need to know!
